I'm glad to see we won't be held to ransom just because we are in the Prem and once again another pat on the back for the guys we have.

If the bottom teams were signing 4 or 5 good players i'd be worried about the gap we've created disappearing quickly but i wonder how many players really want to sign for a struggling premier league team at the moment? Unless you can get a demba ba style clause in your contract there's no incentive to play half a year of premier league football. Hopefully what we do get done will be adequate to keep the momentum on our side.

All in all there has been very little transfer activity in the PL, and no real big name moves so far (perhaps not surprisingly and Robbie Keane perhaps the biggest name).

Those teams currently adrift in the bottom 5 are unlikely to bring in more than perhaps 2 new players, so I do not see any real change for most of them.

just as lambert always does, he knows that a new face here or there can make a big difference. howson coming in will be a big boost to everyone at the club and keep players on their toes and keep things fresh. by simply tweaking the team to improve it here and there, it is a far more sensible mantra than what say qpr are trying to do - ie. build a new team for big money on inflated wages with no time to gel and no time for error and wreaking havoc in the dressing room with various egos reaching their tipping point.

I dont mind that we not really signing any one. Not sure we really need any one. The Team is playing well, Our centre halfs seem to have a good understanding now, Holt and Morrision are getting goals and we have goals coming from other areas of the pitch. With Ward and Vaghan(sp) coming back to fitness soon i think they will be like a couple of new signings!!!! My one thought though is that forrest are looking to sell mcgugan(sp) and west ham are interested. Think he would be a good addition to our squad, always liked him.
