Not players coming in but interest about two players on our books. 1)..... Interest about Matt LeCointe........James Brent has mentioned this morning that Premier Clubs are showing an interest in him.......including Man U and Liverpool. Brent said that they want to keep hold of him and hopes he spends many years here..........but we all know that anyone would be sold for the right money. 2).....Rory Patterson is wanted by Derry...........at present he is on loan at Linfield..............I think come the summer he will be a free agent...........so the chance of selling him would be a bonus..........problem is that he is on big wages, would Derry be able to afford him. He wants to move to Derry because it's nearer his home at Strabane. Selling him would give us some leeway in our wage bill,which means we could entice a striker with a reasonable offer.........if it is OK with the F.L.
I would like Lecointe to stay but if he wants to leave & we get a decent deal for him with some add on's then good luck to him. I think if we can actually get something for Patterson then good.
He is one for the future so nothing unepected particularly to hear of interest. My guess is that if an offer in excess of £300k or thereabouts came in with added extras then we would have to seriously consider it and who could stand in his way anyway. Patterson is already on his way sooner or later so no loss there either. Anything for him would be a bonus and I would not be that surprised to see him leave on a mutual free.
