Eight EFL clubs are now under a transfer embargo. Championship clubs Derby, Hull and Reading League One Fleetwood and Gillingham League Two Swindon, Oldham and Scunthorpe. Just makes you think how lucky we are to have KLD on board this could be a very funny season ahead.
I think Derby are knacked anyway, but that probably puts the next nail in the coffin and I think they'll go down. Didn't know about Hull, but I think that's going to see them struggle, so possibly 2 championship relegation spots already sorted.
Derby are under what is called a soft embargo I think and have been for some time. It means they can sign free agents or free transfers as long as the wages are reasonable (whatever that means). They have out of contract players with them for pre-season but cant yet get them signed. If their takeover doesnt go through soon (they are at proof of funds stage I am told) they will be relying on their youngsters, but they do have some very good ones.
while i can agree with you its taking some time to get them new signings through the door as the new season is nearly upon us,I cant help laugh at cumbrians comment, reminds me of Monty took him ages to be accepted as he was normally on a downer.
Look on the bright side mate. We could be like other league 1 clubs signing the likes of Maguire. These players can be signed quickly for a reason. Hopefully the players we sign take a lot longer for a reason too, i.e. they are of a much higher standard, have lots of options, and they are selective about the club and coaches they want to play for.
We either hope, based on hoping new owners dont want to fail, or assume the worst based on nothing other than assumptions.
i was not going to go that far with Monty but Wolfy 1,300 likes in 780 posts a lot of people liked what he wrote, and sneakily banning him was bad, as i hope you will agree , i admit he not to everyone's liking but then who is on this board have a good evening mate
