With the transfer season approaching i just did a bit of googling on some of our proposed targets (boredom) and found it strange after coming across this link http://translate.googleusercontent....80%99/&usg=ALkJrhiLrK0dk1sMcFG4yqV1_icpYz6J1A that manu's entire future back four of the da silva twins, smalling and phil jones could have been arsenal players had united not come barging in. Then there's also the small matter of christiano ronaldo who was on the verge of signing with us before (lets be honest) united coughed up more cash. In fact the only player who chose us over utd (to my knowledge) recently is the much maligned aaron ramsey (i still believe in him though). Do you think we'll be involved in a similar transfer tussle this time round and why do you think we always end up competing with the same one team in the transfer market? Manu can have hazard if they want though i would really like it if we beat them to vertonghen (if there interest is genuine) and though i doubt it christian eriksen (for whom utd are front runners though eriksen has always reiterated he would like one more year at ajax).
Ive read several sources including wenger a.d ronaldos perslective though there may be more to it than meets the eye so...enlighten me! Though the point.of tbe article remains tbe same we always compete for the same ayers with manu in paticular.
Like most stories in the media the vast majority are bullshit. Some website says we are/were after a player but it's never confirmed by the club
Smalling was a player we wers definitely after wenger admitted it. Accroding to sky we were after jones while the da silva twins stated that arsenal offered them to join but they chose manu.
As you just posted "According to Sky".Wenger himself admitted an interest in Ronaldo.Another one you can add to the list of those who chose Arsenal over Stretford is the Costa Rican lad who's name i've ****ing forgotten
Espn and bbc said it too....oh and the costa.rican kids name is joel campbell..and he scored yesterday for lorient agaisnt league.leaders lorient. Good goal too!
The Arsenal scouting system seems to be very strong - but we do lose a fair share of players to opponents. Still of the players mentioned, I am glad we didn't get them. Maybe Wenger fought harder for the ones we actually did get?
Here's Joel Campbell's goal by the way - great first touch, great finish. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2012/0...es-a-cracker-for-lorient-against-montpellier/
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it was also reported that Podolski turned down a move to Man United in favour of Arsenal as well...
There have been sporadic reoorts but not from any credible.sources. Not to mention pod isnt ours as yet.
Ramsey has the neccessary quality to succeed at the highest level. It all depends on what happens next season. Will we get another midfielder in and will Wenger persevere with him. History would say he will...
