You only have to look at the damage that Campbell-Ryce did to our defence last weekend to see the possibilities that are in the lower leagues - question is whether players like that can maintain that level of performance on a regular basis over a season - there were many on here who had doubts as to whether Charlie could make the step up, thankfully he's shown us all that he can becuse without him we'd be in the sh1t
You could gamble on four or five lower league players for the price and wages of a Premiership or top Championship player. With our record of proven players unproving themselves, it seems ludicrous not to. Also, YSY didn't exactly cost a fortune and has done well so the scouting network can succeed without myopically getting stuck on West Ham and Spurs players of past and present.
