i will do a thread once tomorrow nights results are in. this will definitely be my last pre match thread and i would like someone else to take over next week please. i have an eyesight problem and will be cutting down on computer work.
I'm always happy to start the threads but they will be pretty minimal in terms of content. Here's hoping the eyes get better quickly! Tranmere 2-0 Shrews, attendance: 5,312
are we playing Tranmere at the right time now their form is slipping? could we have a backlash off them regarding Moores words? or haven't we just got good enough players? Tranmere..2 Shrewsbury..0 5,400 (funny how they do well with lower crowds than us) (Bell-Baggie) i just like his name (Robinson)
I didn't realise quite how low their gates are. I'd imagine the fact that they're a side established at this level would help then attract players, as would the fact they could sign players from many clubs who wouldn't have to move house! There's obviously an element of luck - we both got on a striker on loan from Wolves, but theirs did considerably better than Winnall!
5,959 happy scousers (well almost, it is the closest ground to the Mersey!) will watch their heroes thrash Shrewsbury 4-1 with the hapless Shrews goal scored by McGinn....who then asks if he can stay at Shrewsbury 'cos he likes the area, people, club and is happy with the wages.
shrewsburt town are firmly esconsed in the fertilizer. although last nights results will help if we ever get amongst the dizzy heights of carlisle and preston it is rumoured chris porter is joining town today from sheff utd. he cannot come too soon. results tranmere have lost their last 2 games away at orient and at home to carlisle otherwise they have won against brentford, coventry bury and swindon. up untill last night they were top of the league, but last nights results dumped them down to 3rd. who knows how much further they may drop in front of the cameras on friday. towns league situation is now critical with colchester, oldham and bury having games in hand. tranny's manager is concerned his team are on the slide. he hopefully will be proved right on friday. so come on lads, floreat salopia, breath on em shrews, and show us how its done chris porter. finally do hope gt can loan out some of our lesser players.
The reserves game we had against them this week featured quite a few of their senior squad, so let's hope it gives us the same result on friday!
Just been talking to a Tranmere supporter who was also bemoaning the fact that they had not signed a striker!!!!
Tranmere 0 v 2 Shrewsbury Porter Morgan Att 5450 Come on you Shrews and Chris Porter please show us where the oppostion net is!!
