Wow what a game is to be had this Saturday at Prenton Park just past Port Sunlight on the Wirral In the last eight games Won, Draw, Loss, Goals for, Against, GD, Points 14 Shrewsbury Town (22) 8 2 3 3 6 7 -1 9 WldWldDL 19 Tranmere Rovers (19) 8 2 2 4 11 15 -4 8 wDLlWllD So town sit in a marginally better position than Tranmere in the last eight games, I and i'm sure you wish that we could be above them in the table. We might well be if anything comes from this little issue that Ronnie Moore got himself into: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26947045 Ryan Lowe is their top scorer (19 Goals) and boy do I wish Turner had signed him back in July/August as we probably wouldn't be as far down then table with him on our side. We are where we are due to lack of goals, we have conceded 50 and Tranmere 76 so it looks as if we need to go into this game with a real attacking mentality and possibly a formation to suit this as their defence is pants. Bradshaw scored 2 goals and got assists in the reserves game this Tuesday, Grandison and Winfield also played a part - that should mean they will be ready for the bench this Saturday. What really happens on Saturday might well be a damp squib of a 0-0, but let's hope someone lights the blue and amber touchpaper and we come home from the game with a good win and a much better GD than we started with.
oh my god! ronnie moores sacked and ex town john macmahon in charge. jm was town's manager twixt peters and simmo. he gained 4 vital points for town. better take the game to tranny from the kick off. 2 quick bradders goals needed. wonder if GT would consider tranny, very close to his roots at Ellesmere Port. tranny 0 town 2 att 4544, bradders 2 if jacko selects him. scored 2 against wrecscum.
I'll bet Ronnie doesn't place a wager on the match!!! The 'new manager' syndrome may kick in and that's usually worth a few points. So we'd best be wary. Whoever calculated it for the Graham >>> Jacko change suggests it might be worth two points over 10-15 games!!! Good job there's only five to go!!
Bought two tickets for the Cowshed end at prenton park today. Asked at ticket office and they said they've sold over 300 tickets so far.
Moore has been, to all intents and purposes, sacked since February. Doubt it will really affect the match. Hoping we win, expecting a draw. Fearing a loss. I'll go with a turgid 0-0 for this one.
Let's not give too much credit to John McMahon. He actually only presided over the two games in the inter regnum period between Peters and Simpson. They were both at home and both were draws.
