Big focus on shooting ,can't think why http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...emier-League/story-20942944-detail/story.html
Alvaro does have quality but he just hasn't produced it for us. His record for the Spanish "under" teams is as follows:- 20: 5 goals in 7 games. 21: 7 goals in 14 games. 23: 2 goals in 3 games. Total: 14 goals in 24 games. Spain do not cap duds at any level. From the above it is easy to see why Laudrup took a loan punt on him but, unfortunately, some players just do not fit with certain teams and this might be the case with us. Others take a long time to settle. I seem to remember that Henry took a while to get going at Arsenal and we all know what happened when he did. If the money is right, I would be tempted to give him another season. It's a pity his good goal was chalked off against Valencia as it might have given him the confidence to kick on.
Confidence is the key there i reckon Ivor . Clear to see at Everton when he was clean through and didnt fancy it . I also think the level and adjustment to Premier league was a bit too much too soon and he suffered a bit, seems a decent lad . Of course goalkeepers in training have not been adverse to letting a few in when faced with a striker who has confidence issues, alot of managers are quite clever on this one . In fairness to Laudrups siginings ive seen something in them all, Lama has had some sublime moments and Alvaro has abilities without a doubt, its perhaps getting the consistancy levels thats the problem.
Agree with all that, Norway. As I said, it's a pity his goal was wrongly chalked off against Valencia as breaking his duck is obviously important for him..... as well as us.
