Plans to redevelop the Warren Farm Sports Centre into a training ground for QPR have been formally submitted to Ealing Council. QPR want to leave Harlington. Rangers are keen to leave their current base at Harlington and West London Sport revealed in January that the Warren Farm site near Osterley Park is the clubâs first choice for a new headquarters. A number of other parties have also expressed an interest in redeveloping the site, including the wealthy owners of Southall FC. Last month QPR chief executive Philip Beard said he was âquitely confidentâ the clubâs plans would be approved. --- I take it these plans should be available online at some point so people can challenge them if needed, will be interesting to see what they want to do.
I'm assuming we will have put some kind of community element into the plans. Makes sense to get approval and for Mr Mittal's standing with the Indian community. I guess he must be bankrolling this.
Ive said that all along, officially its 1/3rd Mittal and 2/3rds TF but I think Mittal is behind it all and TF is just a frontman. Remember they tried to buy the shares off T&C but were refused. Its the only way to make sense of the way the club is being run, take a big loss over 2-5 years until we get a new ground.
CenyBerney- Your talking jive- My previous incarnation of Iain Dowie's Wingman was the first to say that it was going to be Warren Farm. Main rival in a bid is fronted as a bit of a community sports centre (which actually is really only intended as a money spinning wedding centre as a money making). They are endorsed by Sachin Tendulkar and have all the right people on side, local MP and local councillors Mittal putting a word in with the right people for the other bid to go away quietly is the only way we are going to get permission. Beard's connections at GLA will also prove useful if it gets through first stages
Park Club is well posh it wont be there though i doubt, it's a fully functioning sports club with many members
With Mittals influence Warren Farm should get done CernyB - See Below: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/94744-New-training-ground
What odds will anyone give me that it will not be the Park Club? 10-1? I had a dream last week that they will announce it on April 12 and i used to play cricket at Shepherds Bush Cricket Club in 1969 whilst i was a programme seller at Loftus Road so it all makes sense to me.. SB 73-my website is www.robertosborne.org.uk a book coming out in June-got a little page in it featuring my 1967-68 QPR scrapbook £20 retail but heavily discounted to QPR fans U R's
