Training Ground planning permission approved Wednesday, September 12th 2018 Bristol City today (Wednesday, September 12th) welcomed the approval of its planning application for new training facilities at its Failand base. North Somerset Council Planning Committee voted to approve City to proceed with the state-of-the-art site that will bring together the club’s first team and Academy players and staff, further enhancing the club’s player pathway programme. Included in the new-look facility is a floodlit showpitch, capable of hosting the club’s Under-23 matches, along with two other new full-size pitches and two more training areas. The club has worked closely with the architects and project team to design a building that complements the surroundings, encompassing a gymnasium, changing rooms, medical and rehabilitation facilities and office space for the first team and Academy staff. City chief executive officer Mark Ashton told bcfc.co.uk: “We are extremely grateful to North Somerset District Council for giving this project the closest consideration and supporting the club’s ambition. “This site has been the training ground for the football club for over 10 years. At least this council sees the benefits of approval,unlike the idiots running Bristol City Council.If only the realised the millions in brings into the area every season.
Great news , things at last seem to be coming together. It makes me wonder though , had we not had the problems with the dog walkers where we’d be now , plus of course there’d be no need for all this nonsense with the arena. Things are definitely moving forward though , it must be the the way forward for a club of our size, we should have done it years ago. We must move to cat 1 as soon as possible surely , otherwise the cat 1 teams will just take the cream of our crop regardless.
