Lucky not to get sent off for antics before penalties but it was very funny. Very confident, in-fact sometimes too much, with the ball at his feet. Will be plenty of heart -in-mouth moments if we do get him.
Pope just looks uncomfortable when it comes to him and like his brain takes too long to make a decision how to deal with it. Trafford is happy just pissing around with it. Burnley fans were getting on his back for dwelling on the ball when they wanted to get it forward quickly.
I was concerned that he was just an average keeper but last night made me think he has massive potential.
Precisely. Howes downfall is going to be his reluctance to move away from the likes of Pope Burn Schar and Murphy.. Right now it's not even got the option though.
Nah, reliance on Pope, Burn etc is a 'problem' that is entirely PSR created. Once he gets better players in, he replaces his 'favourites'. Sometimes it's after a six month bedding in process though Longstaff is the most recent example. At one point some (possibly you, can't remember ) were sure he'd keep playing him, but he can't get a look in now that Tonali is up to speed.
I agree, but even if we bought their replacements Howe would drag it out until the seasons up in smoke before making the changes.... this is just my view of how he operates though. Longstaff was playing regularly for far too long imo.
