At the emirates this evening Fulham turned out in their traditional white tops and black shorts. And oh boy didn't they play like the old Fulham - they played as a team and the controlled football throughout the 95 minutes was a delight to watch.

We didn't win and on balance a draw was probably a fair result. But, sitting high up on the half way line I felt priviledged, honoured and proud of the lads. They just so nearly pulled it off. I suspect MOTD probably won't do them justice - the tackling, covering running and, especially, the passing was superb.

It is unfair to pick any one player out - could be Scwartzer or Ruiz (terrific) but if forced to it has to be ..... Etuhu. Words fail me.

Cannnot finish without mentioning again that this was a truly wonderful black and white performance. You should never break with tradition, I say.

Footnote - have to disappoint Tosh - there is a negative. The mince pie at left back was awful.

C58, that was my first thought, back to black and white!

Etuhu was tremendous, and what unfair yellow card to a fair challenge.

Whatever MOTD say I don't care, as they are biased... I saw that we controlled Arsenal and they only threatened us after the goal as you would expect from a team at home.

Totally agree with both of you, black and white does us proud once again. Etuhu was immense and long may it continue.

I would just like to say well done to Martin Jol today. He got his tactics spot on, press them high up the pitch and work hard to get back if they got through. He obviously told Brede and Senderos to get close to RVP and asked that Murph's or Etuhu drop to intercept where possible. Ruiz was fantastic and has a eye for the unpredictable pass.

    Today, I still believed !!!

Caught a bit of the game over the internet and thought the same; Fulham looked very competitive. Dembele and Zamora were great, but it was a good team performance. Two points from two tough away games, and I'm feeling more confident about the state of the team.

    Hi Guys

without being smug, I was genuinely pleased with Dicksa (as I am more often than most) and Ruiz (who I think will be special).

Overall a team game. We might have had 3 points.

Very proud of our teams performance today, for me M O T M was Etuhu, (what an enigma he is),
but without doubt a good solid performance.
noted on m.o.t.d, Arsene Winger saying his teams performance was somewhat due to the European match,
mid week.. What about all the midweek games we have played.
Well done lads, now carry it forward.

I'm even more biased than MOTD.

I reckon the Arsenal goal should have been disallowed because Chamakh held Senderos down from jumping to cut the cross out (even though the ball was crossed higher than both of them could leap.)
And since MOTD didn't show Zamora's disallowed goal I'm convinced he was on-side.

He was really marginally offside... I saw the game on ESPN. Margin of the margins... it could have easily stood or not given should have been another team... Arshavin's was clear cut case.

As someone who follows fashion perhaps a little more than you guys (!) I have to say that whilst I was pleased to see the black and white wearing the home tops with the away shorts didn't really go. However, that is virtually my only complaint!

I thought we played really well and thoroughly deserved a point against a CL side who are on a good run. Agree with everyone else about the standout players but I thought everyone was good with the exception of Riise (although obviously we have him to thank for the goal!) I think that that is now 3 away games on the trot win which we are unbeaten which is an unusual record for us but a good one and perhaps means some consistancy has finally arrived. Certainly if we play like that every week we'll be in the top half of the table in no time.

I was lucky enough to be in the corporate seats yesterday but surrounded by Arsenal fans. When the ball trickled over the line and we scored I leapt up screaming then had to hastily sit down again but couldn't stop myself clapping. Luckily the Arsenal fans are a forgiving bunch and nobody seemed to mind too much!

In a very similar situation Penguin,in the Arsenal supporters section.
I to jumped up elated, one of the wags around me said let him have his moment,
it will be us standing for the next 4/5 times. Needless to say I did not ask that soothsayer
to fill in my next lottery ticket.
Still a great day for any FFC follower.

    Hi Tosh,

I'm going to be share some of that smugness. Told you the Christmas party would bond the lads and feel as if they had gone into the New Year early. Didn't forsee the black and white kit though.

Just joking really - I still haven't come down from the euphoria of sitting (had to since I was among the Gooners) through such a great team performance.

I thought the same, Penguin - maybe I've missed my calling in life. I should become a fashion guru.

Stop press. Mrs Captain has just pointed out the idiocy of that particular idea. The poncho it is for me, then. (sigh).
