Townsend & Defoe are both on the bench today. It'll be interesting to see whether they feature, With Bale out Townsend may get a run in the 2nd half...

I'm watching this game on vacation at a cottage by the ocean, with volume turned off since two of my kids are still sleeping at 10am on sofa bed right in front of TV - good job it is not an R's game as I would get stick for making too much noise! Sometimes nice to just as a neutral observer, certainly less stress.

I live in the next road along from the Palace ground and even with the back door open rarely hear any noise from the ground. Amazing to see Delaney, who couldn't cut it in the Championship with us, now in the thick of it in the PL. Gabbidon as well...

Harsh on Palace that penalty decision. Kevin Phillips over 40 now galloping around like a youngster. Delaney putting in a strong shift.

    Nailed on pen imo.
Palace look toothless up front. Hard to see where their goals will come from.

Agree after watching slow-mo, likely what I meant was a harsh baptism to the Premier league. Not as if Spurs racked up a bunch of goals up, but obviously much more potential.

In these neutral games I always root for the underdog, especially with Ollie and fielding ex-R's, unless we're battling them for a relegation spot. Would have loved to have seen Kevin Phillips turn on that chance and it on the net.

Palace really are way short of survival with that squad, their energy and enthusiasm will count for little once a run of defeats erodes their confidence. Signing Chamakh says it all. Hull have made some decent signings but are also up against it. Time will tell...

Redeemed himself with magnificent free kick from 35 yards out though, as did MacGregor with the penalty save. Hull haven't progressed much from, although they still have to blood the Spurs pair, which look like good signing/loan.
