Two fantastic long range goals from Tottenham Players for QPR against Sunderland in Townsend and Jenas. Both candidates for goals of the month. Hope they can help with our great escape again this year after back to back wins particularly with Arsenal at home not to far away. You have a very good player in Andros Townsend emerging at QPR and think if you dont want him we do. Have you any more players we can have to the end of the season?

Superb. The teams above will be crapping it if you close the gap to 1 point in the next two games, which is possible.
Townsend has been Man of the Match in 2 of our last 3 home games. You have one very good player. Take it he is not good enough for your premiership team which is why he is with us. Im sure he will do will the business when we play Arsenal at home in a few weeks.
We've had Bale and Lennon on the wings for most of the season, with Sigurdsson fighting for a place and now Holtby's joined him, so Townsend didn't get much of a look in. Now the Welshman's moved inside it probably would've made a lot of sense to stick Townsend down the left, but Villas-Boas preferred our Icelandic midfielder and it seems to be working out for everyone. It'll be interesting to see what happens with him in the summer, but I'd like to see us keep him. Scores some good goals, for a start.
Redknapp talking after the game about townsend. "his wages are very very low and hes come here to prove himself"
The move for both players very nearly fell through, as contrary to media reports, QPR do not have a bottomless pit of cash. When it transpired that Jenas was due a loyalty bonus from Spurs, this immediately jeopardised both his move and Andros's. Anyone watching SSN on transfer deadline day will know they showed Townsend arrive for his QPR medical and then immediately leave, and that is the reason why. The players share the same agent, so between them they agreed Jenas would forgo his loyalty money and Andros would take a salary drop as they were both deserate for regular football.
I guess I'm happier for Townsend because he'll be coming back to us but really pleased for Jenas too, he always comes across as a nice guy but a series of injuries and us progressing without him took his career hurtling backwards without him having done anything wrong. After Jenas went back to Forest and it didn't work out I thought he was pretty much done as a player so I'm hopeful he'll get the luck he deserves with injuries and prove me wrong. I didn't want us to loan out Townsend but Sigurdsson did well for us on the left against the Scum, I think he benefitted from having a proper left back behind him. A successful PL loan seems to be a prerequisite for our youngsters getting given a proper chance in our first team in the following season so hopefully this will turn out to be that loan for him. Anyway good luck with the rest of the season and the great escape
Watching MOTD now, super goals and especially pleased for townsend as he deserves a chance to prove himself and i hope he gets a move next year if Avb makes it clear he isnt rated. Although Ill like to see him stay as what is the point in us producing talented youngsters if we dont give them a chance.
I've always been a big fan of Townsend, the loan to you guys will do him the world of good even though I'd have liked him to stay here as he's our only other natural winger alongside Bale and Lennon - though Bale now plays centrally. Seems to be doing the business at QPR so far and hopefully he'll come back a better player and stake a stronger claim for a first team place like the likes of Walker, Caulker and now Carroll are doing.
