I guess AJ forgot to post it on here, so I though I'd nick if from where he posted it elsewhere having disposed of preston away , town now have the chance to dispose of former high fliers sheff utd. the blades have slumped to 6th place in the league and after next saturday , may go lower. utd have hit a rough patch , drawing 2 games out of 5, and taking 2 points out of 15 results L h coventry 1-2 draw notts a 1=1 L h yeovil 0-2 draw a donny 2-2 L h hartlepool 2-3 oh and they lost 4-0 to reading in the cup! league p29 w12 d12 L5 f40 a28 gd12 p48 6th away form w6 d6 L2 f16 a11 hotshots blackman 14 miller 8 kitson 7 sheff utd's home gates are on a par with qpr, about 17500 town must be on a high after beating preston. february may prove not to be a bogey month for town. i believe they will beat out of form utd by 2 goals. doubtless the crowds will return and i forcast an attendence of 6500. come on you shrews, floreat salopia! breath on em town!
Still a very tough ask, but our run as got to start somewhere sooooooo ill go........ Shrews...1 Sheff...0 McAllister 6.800.... i mean
Thought we were at home so 16,800 looks a bit optimistic....seriously I went to opening day fixture in Sheffield, had a good pint and pleasant drive so let's hope it's the same this weekend but with us getting the only goal.
This will be a very tricky one as fans will be expecting us to kick on from Preston and win again but I note we have won one match (and no more ) every month of this season so our quota of wins for February is already met! On the positive side 'History is bunk' and we will have Mcginn starting and perhaps Parry will emerge from the doldrums. Having failed to land a 'million pound striker' GT says he has loan bids in for two strikers so (being optimistic and flying in the face of our mostly lamentable efforts in the loan market this year) I will tentatively predict we will not only get two loan strikers in but that A.N Other 1 will start and score, then pull a hamstring to be replaced by A.N Other 2 who will score the winner before injuring his neck when failing to complete a back flip in celebration. So that is my prediction, a 2-1 win in front of a crowd of 5900 (Sheffield United may be filling their end but I suspect the horror shows against Hartlepool and Bury will deter all but the most avid Town fans). Incidentally, following the goals of Hartley and Poole in Hartlepool's recent win surely we should be scouring the local leagues for a couple of cheap strikers called Shrews and Bury because you never know - there could be something in this.
Salop 1-1 Sheff. Paul Parry to score a rocket, at which point the 4,720 Town fans erupt before the 1,400 visiting fans explode (not literally) with joy after their team score a stoppage team equaliser, meaning to total attendance is a nice, round 7,120.
If he manages to sign a loanee striker by 12pm on Friday then he can play on Saturday I will be hoping that Parry starts on the wing on Saturday too
come on you robins. swindon won away last night at colchester, sheff utd's game was snowed off last night. so the blades visit the gm having taken 2 points from 15, and they lost at home to h/pool. their away form is w4 d6 L2 f16 a11 their top scorer blackman who scored 14 is now with reading i go for a win--town 3 blades 1 att 6545 morgan, new signing, richards. scunny won again against pompey, but scunny and colch, are 5 points behind town floreat salopia! and breath on 'em!
thanks matster, but i was waiting for last nights results. scunny on the rebound, colchester and pompey in freefall and hartlepool awaiting rigor mortis. i think we can start looking at notts counties results, as their place is where we should be aiming. on a positive note, town are only 14 points from the playoffs, should we be worried?, there are many teams above us who could suffer the wobbles. at the risk of upsetting anyone. come on you SHREWS!
Note, Matster went to click on Like and his big clumsy finger hit dislike on his phone screen by mistake
Just what we needed - our one striker who can ,on his day, cause the opposition some problems may be missing. We are still waiting for the promised loan stiker (and I for one am not holding my breath). What formation shall we play 4-5-1 or even 4-6-0 ?
