Pile of crock - was that game. Mambo, Jones, Taylor and Bradshaw seemed to be the more positive things to mention. If GT takes Bradshaw off and moves his winger to be a forward then why not play him up front in the first place? I must admit that the substitutions seemed to liven the game up and would want to see Summerfield anad McGinn start the next game.
Baffled by the selection of Purdie. Every time McGinn comes on, he looks a class apart. Richards and Purdie offer little urgency and in a previous life were obviously crabs. McAllister at least tries to burst forward. Bradshaw did little wrong but also little right. His first half run off the ball took his marker directly in line to a pull back which otherwise would have reached Richards for a good chance. Jacobson, Mambo and Jones were reliable (thank goodness) but Gayle rather hit and miss.
to much fanning about in midfield, and completely no idea how to break our opponents down, yet again far too many of our players having an off day!!
Mambo and McAllister looked our best players imo. Bradshaw worked hard, had a decent strike blocked and was better than Morgan (who needs a rest) but is simply not good enough to be our number one striker. McGinn looked quieter than he has done but still infinitely better than Richards and Purdie, and it baffles me that he is continually selected on the bench. A winger is desperately needed. Oh, and we should've conceded a penalty when Gayle handled.
Looked to me (directly in front of me) like a stonewaller - even if it was unintentional, his hand was above his head.
I agree I have seen those given as penalties and I wonder why Gayle was selected over Goldson who has been pretty steady at full back apart from at Swindon where many better players than him have been given a chasing by their wingers.
I felt sorry for Goldson, as he has been steady as you say and dropped after his first game. I think Gayle offers more going forward generally, but was pretty poor in that regard yesterday.
Jacobson was great in parts either. Did do some very good stuff, but free kick and a few clearances come to mind. Summerfield was getting annoyed as he was creating runs, passing the ball and indicating where he wanted it put, continued his run only for the player to wander off with the ball elsewhere.
I have never been a big fan of Morgan even before he got here as many of you know, but he never got the ball he was asking for all through the match, and if you dont give it to him he cant score, thus as usually starts his embarrassing 'argy bargyng' through frustration!!
