TOWN Sign Bartosz Bialkowski

The Polish glovesman has just signed from Notts County on a 2 year deal with the option for a 1 year extension.

It is understood that a fee was involved and remains undisclosed. Former clubs include Southampton.

Is he better than Gherks?

Don't know if he's better than Gerks but Dean will know that he will have to up his game to keep the jersey now.

 

He might even get a half tomorrow night to show us what he can do!

 

Not one of our most inspiring signings.. but the fact we hung in and probably paid a small fee (a fee at all to be fair) for him means Mick and his staff see something in him... probably enough to be a real contender for the #1 jersey as I imagine we'd have moved on to other targets last week if he wasn't fancied for the starting position.

Could be a great bit of business, but right now the jury is very much out

Also, by all accounts the deal was practically a free transfer as they wanted to reduce their wage bill.. though I imagine we probably threw them a few quid to push the deal over the line as that was apparently the cause for the delay

 

Any fee paid will soon be recouped with letters on shirt sales....

 

don't know anything about him, so I will judge on his performances for us.

 

I was hoping for a signing that would push Gerkin down to a definite number 2 so rather underwhelmed but as King has commented above its a player MM does appear to have chased and been prepared to take from another club rather than the job centre so I am prepared to see how it unfolds.
