Not sure if he would be any better than what we already have but this is just a rumour link at this stage. What do you think? http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/22771/bristol-city-midfielder-linked
More interested if we'll be able to hang onto Andre Dozell-couldn't we do with a player of his father's calibre now?
Also linked with Kenny McLean from St. Mirren who we are playing in a pre season friendly.. (apparently a verbal agreement has been made with a championship club so could be us) This Skuse fella isn't the most overwhelming rumour we'll ever hear but if we are interested I imagine it'll be to cover the defence and holding midfield (competition with Hyam) I suppose the win at Derby has put us in a stronger position for Mick to start casting his eye on who he wants for next season as we don't want to be waiting around until the merry go round has started and Mick is clearly looking down a lot of avenues to give himself as many options as possible.
surprising you are so dismissive of a player like this beefy, considering this was the type of player that got you to the premier league. my view of him, is he is a very good championship player, good work ethic which fits into micks mould.
I know it was probably tongue in cheek and with a rye smile but wasn't it yourself who said on your own board recently that you were frustrated that Norwich fans were starting to think they were too good to sign certain players.. As Guru has said Norwich have made their success out of buying decent players and molding them into a team.. I wonder whether that will continue to be the case if you stay up and the fans are desperate for some more Wolf Willy
Rubbish player, absolute dross. I live in Bristol, know loads of Bristol City season ticket holders, go a few times myself. Bar running around with energy like a headless chicken he offers NOTHING!
I went to City v Wendy, and we certainly missed a trick in Sam Baldock. Very good player at this level, would be very up for him joining.
At least Norris chipped in with nearly double figures in goals (more than our entire midfield this campaign) Him and Leadknob were never a good pairing but sometimes I wonder what he would be like next to Hyam or N'Daw.
I was thinking t'other day what sort of player we would be in for in the Summer and the sooner we confirm our safety the sooner Mick can start looking at players with serious intent. Clearly a couple of decent wingers are on everyone's wish lists but I'd love us to go out and bring in an out and out goal scorer Jordan Rhodes anyone? If Blackburn do get relegated he could be on of those who leaves (very unlikely to be to come to us) but stranger things have happened. I imagine Venky's would still want some serious wedge to recoup their spending.. Also Will Grigg of Walsall has scored plenty in League 1 and is out of contract in the summer..
That is true SD but I was never a fan of his, in a 3 man midfield maybe he'd be a force, but he simply left too many gaps on his endless quest to cover every blade of grass, whilst kicking anything that moved. I agree alongside Hyam we may have seen a different dynamic to our midfield but I think with our current look in the midfield a creative passing player would be far more beneficial than another 'blood and thunder' animal but I'm sure MM is going to look at every option and ensure we have cover.. I just hope he sees the creative weaknesses as enough of a priority as we fans do..
I think Norris was/is a poor player, certainly not suitable to a 442, he made our team look so disjointed due to him running around like a headless chicken, playing the game at 100 miles not offering himself for the ball, when getting the ball running as fast as he could to where the most opposition players were on the pitch, something I think most important in players is positional sense and Norris didn't have any!! I'd like to see a playmaker come in next to Hyam next season, he reminds me slightly of Matt Holland, and I think a Magilton type player next to him would be ideal. I think him and Garvan would've been a good partnership. I'm not sure if Mick will got for a player like this because most of his teams have 2 fairly solid CMs with all the creativity coming from the wings but then I think he signed Worthsworth to play centrally so perhaps he's changed his philosophy slightly!!
Change of scenery may do Skuse good, but I'm not at all in favour of this transfer. Certainly not a midfield 2. I wasn't a huge Norris fan, but in a midfield 3 he's certainly worth his wait in gold.
