This is the sort of thing that I hate in football. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/oddbal...owen-thompson-14-given-two-match-swearing-ban If the likes of Peter Herbert wants to eliminate discrimination from the game, then here's a perfect case for him to start with. Ridiculous.
They reviewed the decision and accepted the mistake however he still kept a reduced ban and fine because he refused to shake the referees hand after and also continued to show dissent. I don't see much of a problem, just because he has tourettes it doesn't mean he can show dissent and no respect to the referee. I'm glad young players are being held to account for their actions otherwise the lack of respect in the game is only going to get worse. My niece plays for Cambridge City girls team and my brother tells me that even at under 10s girls teams there's diving and arguing with the refs which I find incredible so I'm happy to hear that local FAs are doing something about it.
I always search for more... http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/11/15/teenager-tourettes-banned-football_n_2137751.html says: Is that true too?
The bit about Howard? Yep. Tourettes doesn't always express itself in the form of sweary outbursts though, so I'm not sure if Howard suffers from them.
