away, it is Justin Edinburgh won the League Cup with Tottenham back in 1999, although he did get sent off!
Apart from first team encounters, I remember Gills v Spurs in Youth Cup. A large crowd turned out to watch their yoof captain 17 yr old Steve Perryman already established in first team. Also I saw Gills Reserves v Tottenham Reserves featuiring a certain Martin Chivers. Again crowd way above normal for Priestfield Reserve match. Playing alongside Martin that day was another big striker calles Roy Woolacott who we subsequently signed on loan. We later offered him a contract which he turned down, because he wanted to remain part time because of his decorating/building business. Shame.
Wouldn't it be great if Paddy put on one of his super performances on the night just to show them what they missed out on.
Looking at Match of the Day last night, it appears that the Liverpool fans were allocated a section of the lower tier at the Park Lane end of the ground ( as opposed to the upper corner of this stand ). The numbers involved appeared to be no more than 2000. This is likely to our allocation --- but, on the coach to Shrewbury, Peter Lloyd stated that, whilst the number of tickets for Gills fans had yet to be decided, it may be as low as 1500. It all depends on Spurs. Apparently any rules relating to an allocation of quotas for away fans, does NOT apply to Spurs whilst their ground is under redevelopment. The very likely date of the game is Wednesday 21st as Spurs have a game on the preceding Sunday.
expect we will get more tickets as we are little Gills. Will not be a sell out as Spurs have bigger games
Absolutely agree with what alwaysright has said, which compares to what my contacts have told me too. So this is my stance, give us a bigger allocation or i will get in their home end
On the Spurs Official site -- The game is confirmed on Wednesday 21 September at 8pm. There is no reason given for the 'unusual' kick off time. Stoke v Hull also at 8pm, with all other ties at 7.45, including the probable televised game o f Northampton v Man Utd. Still no news re ticket numbers.
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ There's this thing called the internet that allows you to find out that sort of information.
gioblues - never let it be known that I wasn't helpful - well at least once ! To save you the bother of tiring yourself out by opening the link - just for you - here's what you need to know; White Hart Lane Tube station ( Platform 1 ) (a) 23.02 hours --- arriving at Gillingham, Kent at 00.38 (b) 23.32 hours ----- " --------------------- at 0139 anything after this and you'll be sleeping on the platform seats. The cost of (a) for an adult is £22.60. The cost of (b) is £19.90 ( adult prices ). And you have the faffing around of making 2 changes - and if you go for the 'cheaper' (b) version, you might be sweating that there are no delays that won't impede you catching the man overland to Medway. there is another way ! If you go by the Gills coaches, you'll be able to pick up the coaches at various points in Medway. The coach will travel directly to the ground ( no changing of underground trains ). On the return leg, you'll be given a few more choices at which to disembark. You'll probably get back to Medway about 00.30 even with extra time - and the fare will be cheaper. I expect the adult fare to be about £17 with youths at £14........... this method of travel does not enable any fare dodging escapades - otherwise Peter Lloyd will throw you off the coach as we go over the Dartfod Crossing. To find out more details /or book the coach, please ring the Gills club office ( 01634 ) 300000. ........now, please let me know when you next need you bottom wiping.
thanks always. looks like coach is the safer option. Did you know. I went to rome last week. It cost me £3 return from my hotel near Rome. including metro, bus or train .Thats incredible value
Latest Gills season ticket holders can get one ticket each @£25 per adult. Be sold next week to season ticket holders only. Nearly 3000 tickets available. If any left will be sold later to previous persons who have been to matches this season. Fairest way i think.
Season ticket holders have until Tuesday 13th September to get theirs. From Wednesday 14th September they become available to general sale for fans with a previous purchase history.
Should be plenty of tickets for real fans! Sunday's attendance = 5598. Take away 408 ( Sheffield fans ) = 5190 Gills fans. Of this number there were youngsters who got in for the £1 'deal' ( and probably wouldn't be at other matches but for these deals. ) ...... Not sure of the number - can we call it a 'conservative' 500 ? That brings down the 'core' support to around 4600. ( with just under 3000 STH ) Not many of these attend away matches ( last season's average away support was around 400 ). This season At Shrewsbury, I was joined by 220, and at Scunthorpe, around 250 shared my misery. Even at Southend we only had around 1800 fans -- so - why are people panicking because 2944 tickets for the Spurs game isn't enough -- enough for whom ? - the 'plastic' fans ? - well tough. For once, the Club have got it right with their allocation priority. Nothing personal, but I don't feel sorry for the people who won't be able to get a ticket for the Spurs game. I do understand that there may be a variety of reasons why 'real fans' cannot get to home matches, or to commit themselves to purchasing season tickets. I am unsure if STH are any more of a 'real fan' than those who do not / cannot attend matches - but - the fact remains that STH have prioritised their finance and free time to watching live games - and, in a situation of supply and demand, it is only fair that STH are rewarded for their investment.
Without discussing times or reasons for starting location details online, I'm planning this journey... Ebbsfleet St Pancras Seven Sisters White Hart Lane This entire journey if all goes well will take 1 hour 2 mins, although dependent on drinking places, times to destination will adjust; Other return tickets Std Off-Peak Day Travelcard £20.10 Valid at off-peak times only. Includes unlimited travel on trains, London Underground, buses, DLR and Tramlink services within the zones specified. Refundable. Ebbsfleet International London Travelcard Zones 1-6* In addition to the normal permitted routes, this ticket is also valid for travel on Southeastern high speed services. All I need now is a ticket
I ordered my ticket this morning so I'm OK. Looking through Facebook, it seems as though many people are using the season ticket's of those not attending to get their own tickets. I think the tickets will reach general sale, probably with about 500 left. While there is only 3000 ST holders and we never take 3000 away, there are also a few hundred people getting corporate tickets according to the website so really there is about 2500 for ST holders. As I said about 500 will go on general sale I reckon, when there will be a manic rush!
Well if i dont get a ticket then the home end awaits...ridiculous such a low allocation for a ground that will not be filled.
1200 tickets have already been sold/allocated after only 1 day of sale. Now I don't know if this includes the corporate seats or not but if it does then it could become quite difficult to get tickets for non-STH's such as myself & brb etc. I do hope that the current system is able to eradicate the prospect of plastic's taking genuine fans' chances at getting tickets. Nothing worse than knowing you've missed out just so some premier league fans can turn up to see Spurs play but won't be there to see you against the Wimbledons or Fleetwoods of this league.
