Tottenham v Watford Watford are going to Wembley, but only to play Spurs away in the league. The hosts sit quite comfortably in the final Champions League spot, five points ahead of 5th place whereas Watford are sinking fast with only two draws giving them points in the last six outings. However, the Hornets should be safe from the drop, although, are far from finishing the season with anything apart from a massive whimper. Watford´s last away win was on November the 25th in Newcastle and their last away goal was away to the Champions in January. Sadly, that has been followed by six away games firing blanks. (Link) Tottenham, by their standards, have had a bad run lately too, not wining in two league games and getting knocked out of the FA Cup. Pochettino will want his team back to wining ways to secure the lucrative 4th spot in the league. Team news to follow but I believe TD9 has been added to the others that seem permanently on the list. ¡¡Enjoy the game, COYH!!
I guess we will be trounced.. Good though to see what we can do with whom upfront... Sent from my G3121 using Tapatalk
Merson says ‘Watford look as though they’re on the beach’!! I know results haven’t been great recently but did he see the commitment and the performance in the first half against Palace?! Same old punditry of just looking at the result and no more.
Well away from home we have been pretty poor but I do think our home performances have been ok. Probably lose this one badly as well sadly .
Having thought about this we are, without a doubt, up against it. Nevertheless, with Deeney out maybe some pace up top could be useful on the big pitch. I guess I am clutching at straws. Hopefully, we can at least score. The away support is always vocal but the travelling fans have suffered a lot recently. COYH a win would put us on 41 points!
Eighth away game of the season.... D1 L6 so far... read into that what you will. I also have purchased a ticket for the Man Utd game. I try to do at least ten in a season but the Palace game was midweek and the Liverpool game got moved. Easy trip into Wembley from the office. Might well do my drinking out of town. The result will go a long way to deciding JG's future. A win, assuming spurs go all spursy, will set him up nicely. Realistically we can hope for a narrow defeat I suppose? What with the situation at Udinese another run of poor performances will give Gino a bigger headache than expected.
It is obviously all down to you then Fez I am hoping that Kane's selfish bid to win the golden boot backfires on him and he get booked for cheating And Dele Ali goes in total meltdown if Richarlison wins more free kicks than he does, and gets sent off The two players who could win this game for Tottenham are Erickson and Son but Kane and Ali get all the plaudits
Mmmmmm well haven't seen a game in over 3 weeks. Well accept Liverpool vs Everton on a big screen in the square in Darjeeling without sound. (although I'd take that less than exciting 0-0 here with great joy). I'll be watching in the bar with the only Englishman I know down here and he happens to be a hardened Spurs fan. I'd take a good fighting performance. Maybe that is the best we can hope for. But football is ..... well football, and as we all know sometimes the unexpected happens. Wish I could be more optimistic. Just hope we get something before the end of the season and that the boss gets another chance. I'd have thought the owners should have now realised that the end of season slump should not end with the sacking of the manager. It hasn't worked in recent years. Better get a longer term plan in place. But enjoy one and all as best you can. With the World Cup distraction, next season will soon be upon us, and hope can raise its head once more
I am just hoping we show some fight and don't get totally thumped. I am not holding out much hope. Maybe Spurs players will now think they are not playing for anything and will just be hoping to avoid injury before the World Cup?
Also, “Deulofeu started training with the team this week and I am optimistic in the next games, maybe Tottenham as well, he can play.”
Thanks for the thread Mex. Not expecting much joy from this game, result wise, just hope that we can show some promise of what to expect next season.
On the train down. Deciding where to break my journey for the medicinal pre match pint. Possibly Northwood for a change. Not hiking up to the Green Man tonight for sure. Should be able to squeeze in a couple. I've a feeling that I am gonna need them....
