Thought I'd make an overall thread rather than the forum get clogged with individual player discussions.

A place to talk about both who you want in/out and who Spurs actually get in/out (seeing as how it's usually quite contrasting)

I'll try and keep a list going so we can see exactly what Spurs have done:

    In:

Yago Falqué - Juventus (permanent) - unknown fee
Louis Saha - Everton (permanent) - unknown fee
Ryan Nelsen - Blackburn (permanent) - free transfer

    Out:

Roman Pavlyuchenko - Lokomotiv Moscow (permanent) - £7.5m

Andros Townsend - Leeds (season loan)
Adam Smith - Leeds (season loan)
Harry Kane - Millwall (season loan)
Ryan Mason - Millwall (season loan)
Yago Falqué - Southampton (season loan)
Tom Caroll - Derby County (season loan)
John Bostock - Sheffield Wednesday (season loan)
Kudus Oyenuga - St Johnstone (season loan)
Vedran Corluka - Bayer Leverkusen (season loan)
Sebastien Bassong - Wolverhampton Wanderers (season loan)
Steven Pienaar - Everton (season loan)
Dean Parrett - Yeovil Town (season loan) - Update: Originally a month loan, now extended to end of season

David Button - Doncaster Rovers (month loan) - Update: Extended by another month

If I've forgotten anyone, let me know and I'll update the list!

Good idea, Harry said a few days ago that he didn't think we need any signings in this window, so unless the top quality striker that we are all after becomes suddenly and irresistibly available I can't see a huge amount happening.

    I'd like to see...

    IN
    Leandro Daimao
    Jan Vertonghen
Rasmus Elm (although it looks as if he'll just be signing a pre-contract agreement for a summer move)

    OUT
    Gomes
    Pavluychenko
    Bassong
    Dos Santos
    Alnwick
    Dean Parrett (loan)
    Jake Nicholson (loan)
    Ryan Fredericks (loan)

If we have some money to spend...

    In: Hoilett, Damiao and Samba

Out: Bassong, Pienaar, Kranjcar, GDS and Pav. Some of the youngsters out on loan too.

Lee Cattermole would make good cover for Parker. Huntelaar is scoring well and is physical enough to do well in the Premiership.

  9. One thing that has been made abundantly clear recently is that we desperately need decent cover for Lennon. Hoilett would fit the bill in that respect, and probably wouldn't be that expensive.

Cattermole has an awful disciplinary record and whilst I think he's a good player I don't think we need a player like him whilst we have Livermore and he's not getting a lot of games and Huddlestone is due back this month. If we were to go for a central midfielder, I'd like Muamba or Rodwell.

Huntelaar would be a great signing though.

We wont buy anybody..at a push Hoillet to cover for the wingers.....the outgoings are thick and fast with the young players which is an excellent idea...

i think the consistency of the same faces will be good for the team

I think that we'll do a small amount of business.
Maybe Pavlyuchenko and Dos Santos leaving, with a loan striker and Hoilett replacing them?

Levy won't want to splash the cash right now.
He'll wait to see what the next campaign holds for us before investing, in my opinion.

(Right, that should mean that I'm completely wrong and we'll ship out the dead wood and bring in some top talent! <ok> )

The speculation in Britsh papers atleast seems to have calmed down so perhaps the Barcelonas and other big clubs weren't as interested as it at first seemed. I say we go for it so we don't risk missing out on him again.

Unfortunately I agree with PNP, it's unlikely but if we get rid of those that I mentioned for a decent price you never know <fingerscrossed>

Signing Leandro in January makes sense - it's the Brazilian off-season, so if he joins in late January he will have had eight weeks' rest and will be fresh for the second half of the season, plus it means he'll have half a season of experience going into 2012-13.

Spot on, absolutely no need for MF reinforcements this window, other than more suitable Lennon cover.

  18. Tend to agree with all the above, although stiil harbour some disappointment around Pienaar, who really hasn't had much of a chance and Nico, who clearly has immense talent and has scored some great goals for us, just seems to lack something..... (pick from effort/stamina/pace/decision-making).

As has been mentioned, this is not a good window for investing - overpriced offloads generally fills the shelves (see above) and bringing in from abroad is seldom going to get an instant impact.

If we could get a 'marquee' signing - Daimao or similar - to support Ade, that would be good. Otherwise Samba is a good target however and I thought before he went to Sunderland that Sessegnon would be good cover for Lennon - and now that he has settled into the PL he looks a decent bet.

But if we offloaded a few and kept the core squad until next summer it wouldn't be the end of the world by any means.

Notso -every striker is linked with Arsenal, and they very rarely go there.
Wenger is now desperate and most likely get someone from France (see a pattern here?)
If Levy is to go for him I would suspect he will get that asking price reduced somewhat.
