Pretty spot on with that team. Only change I would make is in the form of subs in the second half, bring on Welbeck and Rosicky.
Yeah Rosicky is a mus to energize the midfield. If we're looking to shut down the game maybe Flamini and Gabriel/Gibbs. If we need goals Akpom and Welbeck. We have a good range of options. I actually had a headache picking my starting XI before it was announced Oxo and Sanchez weren't ready for this match.
I agree, we do have good options on the bench and that's after our two first team injuries. Both Rosicky and Welbeck are good energising subs, with high workrates and closing down of oppo players. Rosicky is very composed on the ball and has very good ball retention skills. This will be essential when Spurs come at us in the second half.
It's great to have a fit squad to choose from. How many times have we been able to say that over the last 5 years ?!? Massive game as always and both teams are going into this one with some form. I think the spuds will come and attack us and if we get it right as we did against city then we can get all three points.
and just read the updates and Sanchez isn't available Gutted about that, I think he would have torn the spuds a new one. We can still win without him though http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20150205/team-news-welbeck-alexis-and-wilshere
We still have enough attack to beat the Spurs. They will try and attack us so we should set up to counter. We have plenty of pace with Walcott and Welbeck so we should be able to create plenty with Ozil and Cazorla providing.
Looks like Wilshere is close to returning and Gnabry and Bielik will be playing against Newcastle on Monday. Is that a league game or friendly?
I'm hoping that Sanchez is ready ahead of schedule and is named on the bench for this game. Wishful thinking maybe, but it would put the ****s up the spuds if they thought he was out and realised he might play on the day.
Wenger is trolling Spurs: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsene-wenger-drops-hint-alexis-5114987
I thought Wenger said he could be ok for the Leicester game (rulling him out of this game and the Newcastle game) or am I wrong and he was talking about Oxo?
Sanchez is a proper old school warrior. You can imagine him chopping at the bits and harassing Wenger to play. Great attitude.
You can even imagine him in a Rocky style training sequence out in Siberia somewhere chopping down trees and running through the snow! Hardcore! LOL
Rocky 4 had the ultimate training soundtrack! And the man is proper hardcore. He is my favourite player in the team for that reason too.
This is great news, I reckon Wenger must have read my comment and thought, 'I vill put ze ****terz up ze spuds and keep zem guessing'
I'm imagining an exasperated tone in Wenger's statements about how much trouble Sanchez is causing him coz he wants to play so badly, but Wenger wants to protect him lol.
If the medical staff haven't passed Sanchez fit then he should not play, it's a hamstring issue, so not something you want to mess with, because we can then have a situation in which Sanchez can be out from anywhere of 1-3 months.
