We have not done that badly against the spuds, well not when you take Bale out of the equation. I see us getting at least a point, seeing as they are playing mid week and they can,t rest all there team and have any chance in the euro game.

Seeing as we are also down in the smoke the following week who knows it may trun out to be a dress reahersal for the 17th:emoticon-0115-inlov

I echo what Northern has said, same team apart from Higgy of course. Up and at em and let's give it a right go!
Noting to lose everything to play for.

Just listened to the Spurs Euro game, hope this has not fired em up for the weekend and they are all "cream crackered" <laugh>
PS might sound like a stupid question but.

Is Crouch banned cos he got sent off tonight? NOT sure if this only applies to UEFA games. <doh>

I think switch Wilson to left back to replace Higgy, and bring in Wilkinson on the right. I think he's probably quicker than Wilson, for dealing with Bale. Other than that, keep the same team.

Edit: Forgot Spurs have speed merchant Lennon on the other wing, so it doesn't really matter which side we put the pacier full back on!

To be fair I can remember being worried last season before we played Spurs away that Lennon's pace would trouble Collins, who isn't the quickest, but I remember Collins marking him so well that day that Lennon moved over to the left.

Stoke City visit Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Saturday 9th April for Stoke's 32nd Premier League match of the 2010-11 season (Spurs' 31st match).

This will be the 80th time the two teams have met.

The first meeting came at the Victoria Ground when Stoke City were playing as Stoke FC in the old first round of the FA Cup in February 1896 in a match Stoke won 5-0.

Stoke became one of the 12 founding members of the Football League in 1888 and the clubs were drawn together in the third round of the FA Cup in February 1899 at the Victoria Ground with Stoke winning 4-1.

The first match at White Hart Lane between the clubs was a friendly played in March 1900 with Spurs, then Champions of the Southern League, beating Stoke 6-0.

Spurs joined the Football League for the 1908-09 season but didn't meet Stoke in a League match until April 1920 in the Second Division with Tottenham winning 2-0 at the Lane and 3-1 at the Victoria Ground.

The first meeting in Division One came in March 1923 at Stoke which resulted in a 0-0 draw. Spurs won the reverse fixture at the Lane a week later 3-1.

The clubs met for five seasons in the Second Division between 1928 to 1933 and for two seasons in Division One from 1934 to 1935.

After the Second World War, the clubs met in the modern FA Cup third round in January 1947 at White Hart Lane which resulted in a 2-2 draw with Stoke winning the replay 1-0 thanks to a Stanley Matthews goal.

Three years later, Spurs beat Stoke 1-0 away in the third round.

Spurs were Football League Champions in 1950-51 and beat Stoke 6-1 at home but could only draw 0-0 away during that season.

Every League game played between Spurs and Stoke since WW2 has taken place in the Top Flight, except for season 1977-78 when Spurs spent a single season in Division Two, beating Stoke 3-1 in both matches.

The clubs met in the FA Cup in January 1976 with a 1-1 draw at the Lane followed by a 2-1 win for Stoke in the replay.

To date, the clubs have somehow managed to avoid playing each other in the Football League Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur were founder members of the Premier League in 1992-93 but Stoke City's first season in the competition came in 2008-09 with Stoke winning 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium and Spurs winning 3-1 at the Lane.

Last season Stoke won 1-0 at White Hart Lane with Spurs winning 2-1 at the Britannia.

Earlier this season, Spurs won the away fixture 2-1 with a brace of goals from Gareth Bale.

Overall, Stoke have won 17 games, Spurs have won 40 games and the remaining 22 matches of the 79 played have been drawn.

Well Eidur Gudjohsen must be one of the shortest Stoke apperance's for a along time.Always a big Garth Crooks fan he had alot of skill and i remember a goal he scored against Spurs at the Vic when he went around Yorath and a couple of others to score a memorable goal in a early season win.

On to saturday and Spurs will be hurting after midweek so the best i think we can hope for is a point and with no further injuries before the big one next sunday,

Definetely say keep the same team, obviously someone will need to replace the injured Higgy. Your right Sarge, tough tough match away from home, be thrilled with one point, OVER-THE-MOON with three! <ok>

I think we would all settle for a point from this one, I still can,t forget how high Bale got his leg to volley in the second goal, hers to subduing the spuds

It's Wilkinson that's in for Higgy, so Collins' wrist slashing hate mob can relax. Sounds like it's Wilson to left back.

1-0 to Spurs already. This is going to be a long & depressing afternoon for my two teams. My 3-0 prediction doesn't look a bad one currently

2-0 down already. My 3-0 prediction doesn't look good, 6-0 looks more likely

A most depressing afternoon. I think I will need to get the Whisky out tonight or failing that, get my knives out

Well at least that means we'll only lose by 5. 6-1 does sound better than 6-0

‎3 goals conceded in one half. How humiliating. Sounds like Shawcross is having another nightmare. And some Stoke fans think he should be in the England team, give me a break!!!!!!!! 6-1 looking extremely likely.
