please log in to view this image Friday 5th January 8pm FA Cup 3rd Round Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Romero, Perisic, van de Ven, Maddison, Sessegnon, Solomon and Veliz are on the injury list. Bissouma, Sarr and Son are away on international duty and possibly injured or suspended, too. Kulusevski's returns from his ban. Lineups for each side's last league game: Spurs: Vicario; Porro, Emerson, Davies, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur, Lo Celso; Johnson, Richarlison, Son. Subs: Forster, Dier, Dorrington, Phillips, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Donley, Gil, Veliz. League form: LWWWLW. Burnley: Trafford; Da Silva, O'Shea, Beyer, Taylor; Gudmundsson, Berge, Brownhill, Odobert; Foster, Amdouni. Subs: Muric, Roberts, Delcroix, Ramsey, Bruun Larsen, Redmond, Rodriguez, Tresor, Obafemi. League form: LDLWLL. Ref: Sam Barrott. New to the PL. From Yorkshire, apparently. VAR: Chris Kavanagh. TV: ITV1. How would you like to line up for this one and how do you think we actually will line up?
For a start I'd pick our strongest team, there's little need to make unforced changes as we face Utd 9 days after this fixture. But what our strongest team is hard to tell at the moment. Will Dragusin be signed in time to play? Time is ticking and knowing Spurs and Levy he won't be but van de Ven starting against Brentford after 48 hours of joining gives me hope. Will Veliz be ok to play? Far as I'm aware we don't know what was actually the cause of his pain, was it a twist or ligament issue or more just an impact issue? If the latter, it could be possible he'd be ok in a few days. Ideally I'd like to see: Vicario Porro, Dragusin*, Davies, Udogie Kulu, Bentancur, Lo Celso Johnson, Veliz**, Richarlison/ Gil *Phillips or Dorrington if not **Gil at LW with Pigeon boy at CF.
Assuming Sarr, Bissouma and Son are unavailable, then I guess Vicario Porro Dier Davies Udogie Bentacour/Skipp Hojbjerg Lo Celso Johnson Richarlison Kulusevski
Got to be the strongest team available, what ever that can be and if we build a lead let's see some youngsters get a run out ,easy to say I know
Like others have said, play the strongest team available. Early league cup exit and no Europe means FA Cup must be a priority.
Best part of a week since we last played and 9 days after this game until we play United. No excuse not to go as strong as possible. Edit: Though with that said I would be up for playing one of the youth CBs alongside Davies, arguably that doesn’t weaken us that much anyway. Expecting some rotation from Burnley as they’re not in a good position in the league, though they also have time to rest up a bit.
Rumours from that Paul O’Keefe fella that van de Ven’s return is close and may either be in the squad for Burnley or Utd. Maddison not too far after him, as is Solomon.
Going to this... my elseat got me a ticket for my birthday. 57 today with the mind of a 9 Yr old according to Mrs RCL So we all know how this ends
Many Happy Returns, young man!!! ( What is an "elseat"? What do they do? Are they easy to get hold of? Expensive?)
Ange has confirmed he’s out for a couple months… **** sake. Did confirm the rumours though that van de Ven could be in the squad tomorrow, though sounds doubtful he’ll start.
Couldn’t let this cup-tie go without a song, even if it’s without a prediction. Let’s hope and pray that Lou and co can sing us through, with the hope that once we’re past the third round, we’ll be putting out increasingly strong teams (and benches)! COYS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J15xMIplQTw ALL TOMORROW’S CUP TIES! And what makeshift team will Ange declare In this our Friday CUP TIE? Some hand-me-down guys from who knows where In this our Friday CUP TIE!? And how will we play and how defend? In every later round We'll turn once more to Van der Ven And trust he’ll close the door!
