please log in to view this image Saturday 10th February 3pm Premier League Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Not sure who's going to be absent for this one, as training pictures suggest most of them are back. Sessegnon and Solomon are almost certainly still injured, but Lo Celso and Bissouma may not be. Neither side has any suspensions. Lineups for each side's last league game: Spurs: Vicario; Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Udogie; Hojbjerg, Bentancur; Johnson, Maddison, Werner; Richarlison. Subs: Forster, Emerson, Dragusin, Davies, Skipp, Sarr, Kulusevski, Gil, Scarlett. League form: WLWDWD. Brighton: Verbruggen; van Hecke, Dunk, Igor; Hinshelwood, Gross, Gilmour, Lamptey; Bounanotte, Pedro; Ferguson. Subs: Steele, Webster, Estupinan, Baleba, Moder, Lallana, Fati, Baker-Boaitey, Welbeck. League form: DWDDLW. Ref: Sam Barrott. VAR: Jarred ****ing Gillett (AUS). TV: Not televised in the UK. How would you like to line up for this one and how do you think we actually will line up?
Son, Bissouma and Lo Celso all in training today So we won't be replacing Maddison with a DM with 15 minutes to go again, then...?
I think 8 players pick themselves - the goalkeeper, defence and then Sarr, Maddison and Richarlison. It will then likely be out of Bentancur and Bissouma for the third midfield position, although given the form of both, if Hojbjerg started it wouldn’t surprise me. I expect Werner to start and then it’s whether Ange thinks Son is up to it as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is kept on the bench to come on when hopefully we have already put the game to bed. If that is the case, take your pick from Kulu or Johnson for the other forward spot. Brighton are a strange team. Generally very good but they occasionally put in an absolute **** performance. Hopefully this is on Saturday. The next 2 home games are must win if we have any hope of staying in the hunt for top 4.
IMHO Ange should be aiming for a full squad "reset" by the start of March. Therefore the next two PL games have to be played with a view to easing the injury returning (Bentancur, Maddison etc) , and jaded (Son, Bissouma) back into the fold. Brighton will be tough in MF, therefore Sarr for Bentancur in the starting XI, For the rotation of the third MF position, I guess Skipp will be starting XI with Hojbjerg sub. Everyone else from the last starting XI start again.
Ange has confirmed that he has spoken to PGMOL about getting protection for Vicario Which means that Mickey Van is free to rugby tackle Brighton's keeper at every single set piece, right...?
It's supposedly a precaution. Might've just been left out. We seem to have quite a few options for the bench today and he might not have made the cut.
His time as a Spurs player is coming to an end. If you cannot remain uninjured when an injury plague guarantees you starting XI slots, then you are of little use.
Thousands outside in the matchday fan zone watching City v Everton... no wonder we make so much money on match day ... there are thousands inside too!
