Gray is an interesting player. His versatility is probably his strongest asset. I don't think he has settled into a defined role yet, and it may be that he never does as almost every academy seems to be obsessed with producing multi-purpose midfielders these days.

But it would be a shame if he doesn't, unlikely to be a regular starter at a high level as a jack of all trades.
 
It hasn't helped his 'settled' development by having to play so many different roles last season. His adaptability was somewhat abused by Postecoglu and could ultimately be to his detriment.

Agreed. So far his crucial formative years have been spent jumping from position to position.

He’s still so young. I think all the fundamentals are there and he just needs to repeatedly play the same role for a while to develop some specialism, like you say.

I like this more box to box, midfield link player role that Frank has him in.
 
Bit late to the party, had a mate’s leaving do on Saturday so didn’t see the game live. Highlights were promising though and glad we finally played on the front foot.

More of the same now please, lads. Starting with tonight, especially with Sonny watching!

I know it's only short highlights, but they really didn't offer much other than 2 Thiago chances.
Their away form is worse than our home form though, so perhaps to be expected?
