I was hoping that Conte had done enough work with the squad over the month so that a result could be got from this game without fielding too many of those on WC duty. Sadly the Nice game seems to show this will not be possible.
It’s confirmed that Forster will start and it’s pretty obvious Kane will have to start but we can probably ease Perisic back in. Son should be on the bench too. What it should be: Forster Tanganga, Dier, Lenglet Spence, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Doherty Kulu, Kane, Gil What it will be: Forster Sanchez, Dier, Lenglet Emerson, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Doherty Kulu, Kane, Son
Surely Romero will start, given the BBC in particular have acted like he didn't play a second in the World Cup while Martinez and especially Mac Allister get heaps of coverage?
I bet Ivan Toney wished he hadn’t had a wait almost 6 weeks for another game after his performance v City
Charged with 230 betting offences on November 17th...still no disciplinary action taken place 5 weeks later...farcical
Are we allowed to say Forster's Premier League debut is long overdue, given he should have played just after that international break where Hugo had a thigh injury and, by complete coincidence, he had a few clangers in the games afterwards?
At long last, real football resumes. Football that puts the fans first. Football that isn't money greedy. Football that isn't riddled with corruption. Football not played by diving cheating prima donnas. Football with competent officials and consistent VAR. Football tha- Oh, wait.

Interesting comments from Conte today, had a bit of a moan about the world cup again and hinted multiple players will be rested against Brentford. Hugo and Romero already spoken for so I assume the others could be Perisic and possibly Hojbjerg although I'd be surprised if he did rest the Dane as he's been back for over a week now. Meanwhile injuries to Richarlison and Lucas' injury going into its fourth month mean I can't see him resting both Kane and Son - at least one of them will start and he'll probably do something stupid like play 2 up top. Maybe Gil will start and So will play through the middle? That's the problem with our manager at the moment - he rarely chooses the most logical option when it comes to our line up.
It sounds like Davies is fully fit again so I imagine we'll have to endure Dier playing at rcb again as he doesn't trust Tanganga or Sanchez. Yeah Royal and Doherty 100% starting as WBs unfortunately. His comments today made me think Perisic and Kane could well be on the bench. I reckon he'll go with: Forster Dier Lenglet Davies Royal Skipp Biss Hojberg Doherty Kulu Son With Skipp playing that bizarre RAM role he was given before the break. We'll huff and puff and create nought and probably go in a goal down at HT, then bring Kane and hopefully Spence on to balance the whole thing out.
The starting XI today will IMHO be a big statement of intent for how Conte will run the PL/CL campaigns for the second half of the season. Sadly I fear it will be a case of him merely pressing the "resume" button on the current season vid.
I would have thought Perisic would have been rested today. Still, it’s good to return to PL football.
