Palermo have rejected an offer from Tottenham to sign Uruguay international Abel Hernandez, according to the player's agent.

Reports in Italy claimed the Premier League side had made a €10 million bid to acquire the services of the 20-year-old forward.

When asked about Tottenham's offer, Hernandez's agent Vincenzo D'Ippolito said to calciomercato.it: ''It's true. But for the time being I know (Palermo president Maurizio) Zamparini has turned down the offer, although I do not know what the figure was.

''If indeed it was €10 million then it would be considered too low as the value of the player in the market is of €20million. The transfer market has just started so we will see what happens.''

Another bid turned down, a good prospect from Italy who while not prolific would give us more options upfront. Scored 4 in 11 appearances last season but then with Javier Pastore behind him I would expect the goals to be flowing freely in the team. Encouraging to know Redknapp is looking to address our goal scoring issues but it looks like we're going to have similar luck as we did in Spain last January. Not surprising considering the bid amounts this time around however.

If your lot had Samba and a less moronic keeper you'd be the proud holders of the Carling Cup. Oh well..
