https://uk.news.yahoo.com/led-zeppelin-tops-guitar-riffs-list-170011945.html#h82TBM9 Never liked Led Zeppelin, absolute horse manure. And as for Nirvana being there for ****'s sake. I'm surprised Yellow Submarine by The Rutles never made it in. Best guitar riff ever was Teenage Kicks by The Undertones.
At least they never said the Layla riff was by Eric Clapton, cause that makes me pure beelin` when they do that.
Not sure if it counts as a Riff, but the opening bars of A Forest by the Cure had a massive impact on me musically the 1st time I heard it.
I saw them 3 times in the 80's, the Pictures tour, Glasto (when it was still worth going to) and on the final night of their world tour where they did a 3 hour set which was the best rock gig I've ever seen, they played virtually their whole back catalogue.
I'm not sure quite what defines a riff but of the alternative/goth scene The Cult came up with a pretty good one on She Sells Sanctuary.
E.R. today buddy I am disappointed with your thread. Its not on par with your usual musings and observations. Nowhere in this thread does it mention the genius behind the poster boy of reggae bob marley. Everyone knows Peter Tosh was the brains but Bob was more appealing to the american public. The title of this thread therefore is truly mislabelled. P.s. it was raining earlier but its brightened up now and a balmy evening temp of 19 celsius.
