You would be more concerned if he said he WAS happy about being on the bench !! Surely he knows his future is playing in front of a team reinforced with midfielders who suit his game. Thats our next step ,post Drogba. No surprises there.
He looked very happy today at the parade from what i saw on sky sports ( singing songs etc ) . If what he has said is true though it's most likely a) been exaggerated and b) is good, because if you part company with Drogba in the summer then Torres now doesn't have to worry about having to compete with someone with the status of drogba so he is free and you'll also most likely bring in some decent midfielders/wingers to provide him with a good service instead of isolating him and then that would all lead to Torres having the freedom to wreak havoc once again. A lot of people are of the opinion that all players care about is money when it's not, People would think Torres should be happy because he is getting paid huge wages + has just collected two winners medals but when you feel you have contributed nothing or haven't even started one of the finals it just makes it less sweet, especially when you have the repuation of a world class player Torres has. He obviously wants to do well for you and play his part in winning the trophies instead of just being a bit part player, which is good because next season he'll be ready to prove a point and earn his success which i presume is what he wants to do.
When Torres came on, he showed why he probably should have started. Was full of energy and made more happen in the minutes he was on than Mata, Kalou and Bertrand combined. However it should have come as no real suprise. We set up to be solid defensively and Drogba is undropable in the big games. Torres needs to make himself undropable then he will play more...simple!! Torn over whether Drogba should stay but if he goes, Torres will be the main man so problem sorted. Either way, Torres will play more and Drogba will be used in the 'big' games.
Been laughing on the Arsenal board. They want to buy Torres for 12 mil and they think they'll get 40 mil for Van Pussy!
Can Drogba turn down the reported 250k a week from China? I reckon he'll lap that up considering all the cash he'll be able to plough into his Ivory Coast trust!
