He has scored in 7 different competitions this season.

    Prem,CL,EL,FA Cup,COC,CWC and Charity Shield.

    Fair play.

I aint taking the piss or wumming but that dont make him worth £50m. Thats all he will be judged on and the truth is he has not been worth the money. Dont get me wrong hes miles better than adebayor and at least as good as defoe so would improve us but he was the best striker in the world at one point or very close to being the best.

it is only the 50 mill price tag that has f*cked him up if you ask me, if he had of come for say 20, we would of expected less and he would of delivered more, maybe. There is still time this season for him to do him self justice ..?

Nothing to do with confidence, ability, or luck/loss of form. It is glaringly obvious, the injury to his knee, suffered whilst a Liverpool player, has ruined one major asset, speed. take a look at the time during the world cup for Spain, he hardly got a game, the Spanish manager at the time saw this during the sessions of training and opted for Villa, knowing that Torres was not the player he was before the knee injury. I feel for him, but I know that the level that he was playing at before the injury will never be attained again. There are hundreds of players out there that this happens to but being a striker/poacher the one main weapon they usually posses is SPEED. I can think of no one that has undergone major surgery to the knee and come back as before. Modern science, surgery can prolong careers but you will never fully recover from bad ligament damage.

OK,please tell me where I said it did.
I have simply pointed out that he has scored in more competitions in one season than anyone else in European football history, most likely world football history. It's a facht.

I think he's getting better all the time! I know he's been taking continuous flak ever since he signed up because of his price tag but he's definitely getting there! I was unaware that this scoring achievement in 7 different trophies had happened , but my guess is that once this is generally known and reported he'll just get better and better! <ok>

  7. I disagree. Torres was not the same player for the last eighteen months of his time at Liverpool either.

Injuries have taken their toll on him. It was his acceleration that made him so explosive and devastating. He is still quick but he just does not have that sudden burst any more.

As for his finishing, he was going through a barron spell which, imo, went on too long and as permanently dented his confidence. Being dropped for the FA Cup and CL finals wouldn't have helped either.

All Torres' issues are in the mind - he's still got the quality. Feel bad for him. Never been his greatest fan but I can't help but desperately want him to succeed.

He's miles better than at the start of the season, and does good work off the ball as well. Still think a "proper" midfielder would see him back to much better form. Love to see Luiz get another run in mid with Torres up front.

Can't agree at all - tell this to 'Purple Jesus' Adrian Peterson !!

    Can't agree more..

Roman & our club hierarchy have the capability to make any player average by throwing improbable money at them..
