What a goal! REMINISCENT OF HIM AT LIVERPOOL! THE TORRES OF OLD! Yessssssss! So happy for him! Finally!
Just finished watching the match. Fernando Torres he scores when he wants! That was a brilliant counter attack by Chelsea.
Yep, tidy finish. Never would've done that a few months ago. We need to keep playing him! Great win for us today, I was ****ting myself at 2-2! btw, changed the thread title to a bit of a match thread for everyone to talk, hope you don't mind
We did our best to blow it but got there in the end. Well happy for Torres. Worked his socks off as usual.
We were a class apart, we didn't play brilliantly but they were woeful due to playing a load of youngsters. We definitely did not deserve to lose or draw that. KTBFFH, Benfica round two next.
The Mata one two quick passing move with Torres should have been a goal. Agreed Chelsea dominated that match with most possession and more chances. When Villa came back 2-2 I was like that wasn't deserved at all Villa played like Stoke with that long throw. Also Ivanovic is a legend for scoring our 3rd goal and I went mental with the loudest cheer ever when Torres scored lol.
Well pleased for Torres, but to be honest i thought the Villa keeper should have saved it, he just fell on the ground and didnt stretch for the ball...just my opinion, any way 3 much needed points and a great confidence builder for our up 'n' comeing match against Benfica........ come on you Jacks/Swans
Don't think it was a blowing it thing, Chelsea knew they would win at a canter at Villa Park due to Villa's injuries to key players. All was going well when we took our foot off the pedal, in what should have been an easy low energy win with the Benfica game around the corner. But being Chelsea we will always do things the hard way but in the end we had too much for a poor Villa side. Roberto has too press the meaning of closing off a game a'la Mourinho style on his team. It would save a lot of heartache and energy.
I think what happened today was it got to the 75th minute and all the Chelsea players gathered around and said to each other 'come on lads, this is all a bit too easy and you know how we like to make a chore of everything' and so it was that Chelsea surrendered a two goal lead Villa hadn't previously looked close to equalling. Still, top finish from Torres, will do him a world of good and a great time for us to have a confident Nando back.
Great to see Torres scoring and good to see Sturridge laying the ball off to him. Made hard work of it in the end but I think Albrighton made a big difference to them. Thought Mikel was MOM today.
Villa's manpower reduction took the gloss off an important victory! However, thats the name of the game in the PL! The boys did the necessary and thats good enough for me!
The Swans could make this a very happy weekend if they can do to the Spuds what the Queens did to the Gooners! Go to it Brendan Rodgers!!
1 was through on goal and he hit it right at the keeper, the other 2 were easy tap ins but he flopped it so bad that they were blocked
