So Fernando has spoken about his departure from us to Chavski. Few things I picked out: The Liverpool fans donât know the truth about why I signed for Chelsea,â (Errrr, Money?) "The fans donât even know half of what happened." You're right, we know all of it. "They (the owners) made promises that they didnât keep and I left because I realised I didnât have time to be part of a project that would take years.â So you thought you'd rather warm the bench at Stamford Bridge? What promises were you made? Was it about being a good boy and getting a smashing Christmas present? Did they promise you would score 5 goals in 35 games if you left? Prick!
I've maintained that Torres is an ambitious man and playing under the owners at the time, and Roy Hodgson was very difficult for everyone. I don't blame him for wanting to leave, I'm just disappointed at the things he said after it and the way he conducted himself.
The bloke is a complete tool. He is know into making excuses to justify why he left. Maybe trying to engineer a move??
This is new, he has given an interview with Spanish media saying that the new owners made false promises....... fact is fernando, you asked to go and we let you and with your recent form, thank goodness we did....... We loved you when you were here, but you jumped ship and karma has since given you a slapping......
The irony of Torres talking about false promises is hilarious. Didn't he himself say he was 100% loyal and committed to the club just weeks before he handed in a transfer request. I don't understand why he seems so intent on talking about this a year on, he is truly a has-been. Chelsea should be glad to get rid of him, there are so many better strikers out there nowadays, which is a shame considering the player he once was.
I think if I was Torres in te Woy era I would have wanted out possibly Torres is now acting like a dumped lover (yes chelsea and manc fans I know he was sold and wanted to leave ), he'll be serenading outside anfield soon with a spanish guitar and a rose between his teeth, pleeeesssaaa take ameeeaaa backkaaaaa
He just never shuts up about Liverpool. People always make comparisons between Torres and Carroll but one stark difference is that Carroll has not made any comments about Newcastle since possibly the day after joning us (when he tried to tell geordies that he was pushed out). Carroll hasn't made any comments about joining a big club (now waiting for geordies to post "Thats because you're not"), heck he didn't even react when Derek Lliambias [SP?] was spouting garbage to the national press about him. He has just kept his head down and tried to play football Maybe Torres should think about doing the same
Is he talking about FSG or Hicks and Gillett when he refers to the owners? If it's the latter, which is more likely, why didn't he leave sooner?
