Hello and welcome to the all new and improved Match day Hub which is now the official place for Gillingham fans, I decided to update this so that you will know where to go and chat before and during the game. I always post this a few days before the match so you can start to create a debate before the game on what you think will happen in the upcoming game, you can post who you think should play in the game and why. In addition to that you may share with us what you think the team will be that plays as that may be different to the team which you think should play, if you think a certain player should not play you can share with us the reason why as it is good to know what the fans think about the team and why certain players should not be in the team if you want to tell us why. So all you need to do is post your starting 11 plus the 7 which you think will be on the bench, you may be correct or not but it don't matter as no points are awarded it is just for fun. If I am not at the game I will normally post updates about what is going on and the team which is playing, but when I go to games I write up a match report afterwards. You can post freely during and after the game sharing your opinion with us on the result and what you thought of the players who played. If you go to the game it would be great if you could write up a match day report telling up what you think of the result and what you rate each player out of 10 giving a reason why. This is open to both Gillingham fans and also the opposition, don't be afraid to post just because you are not a Gills fan if it is friendly banter that is allowed. Have fun and debate freely! Just want to add aswell if you do any bets you can share with us what you think is the best bet, I do bets each week so I will share them with you if you want.
I will be working tonight, so probably might not see or hear the result until I get home. I will be happy with a point from this, I just have a really nervous feeling about this one with Torquay unbeaten at home. I guess my eyes will be also keeping any eye on the Port Vale result at Burton Albion. As long as we are still top of the league by 10pm tonight that is all I care about, so if we lose and Port Vale draw I will be happy. Anything else will be a bonus.
Would be good to go away and come back with the point, always feels like a tough game when we play Torquay. Can see Rene Howe putting one away unless out defenders keep him well in check.
not sure i agree we you there brb - personally I think its more important to keep the distance to 4th rather than worry about vale too much, id like to see us keep and if possible expand the 10 point cushion. would you really be happy if we lost vale drew but fleetwood and cheltenham won?
Let's just say I am being realistic, hopefully we get the points and continue to lead the chasing pack at a distance.
Team tonight Im guessing will be....... Nelson Fish Barrett Flanagan Martin Whelpdale Payne Montrose Jackman Weston Burton Subs; Forecast Davies Kedwell Frampton Dack Findley Freiter
We are now moving into a busy period including two trips to the West Country between now and the middle of Nov. Torquay unbeaten at home and a future trip to Plymouth who both managed what we did not and that is in beating Rochdale who are only 3 points off autos. If we take maximum points from these games, then the test is really done.
I was one of many who never ever wanted martin allen incharge...this guy has certainly opened my eyes and won me over with every aspect he has spoken or performed and expect that to be the case for most other previous doubters in our manager. Allen has said this is all a work in progress and it's just the beginning and will only improve, and on that note brb, i feel this to be a test every week previously and going forward. My point brb is rochdale was a work in progress and a day when we were not on equal terms and I feel we are improving more and more with every game...hence something special is being built and I do believe that! So back your team and believe in who you follow whoever we face in this league moving forward...UTG!!!
Saturday's game against Burton was the only time this season, I have witnessed something 'special' - although if Burton were more organised they should and would have caused us problems . We are top and I truly hope it stays that way, however, I am also realistic and the form book regardless of Gillingham, shows that teams who occupy top spot at an early stage do not occupy it at the end of the season. So no room for complacency, we have to respect the opposition, not to much of course, then maybe we might bring home another 2-5 victory. I always believe but I do mine with open eyes and game by game dependent on what I see and know. We were excellent against Burton but only as excellent as the next challenge against a team unbeaten at home. ps. note my comments are in regards to top spot not just getting promoted, because if we base our target accordingly, it may help that step further in achieving the real target.
Tonight will be tough, it will be nice to get a win tonight but a draw will be acceptable, I am a bit like brb first focus is on making sure the gap between us and fourth keeps increasing then once that is large then Port Vale becomes more of a focus.
Martin Allen has said that Jack Payne is available tonight he is not injured he has confirmed that it was due to the yellow card that he went off at half time.

Interesting selection, is this a new formation with 3 centre backs or is one of playing in Centre mid?
We have been good and Howe has been good, he seems like he is even better now as he was good for us but did not have the goals.
Oh bummer. Sounds like to 2 flukey shots have beaten Nelson. Got to do the biz at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday..........
