Quiet came from what I've read....Carey scoring direct from a free kick out wide that avoid everyone and found the far corner in the 86th minute.......just the mighty Forest Green left before the season starts.

Do you know I forgot this one was even on. At least we won it I suppose. This isn't the worst preseason we have had. Bit unmemorable I'd guess but not the worst.

Just back- yes it was typical pre season friendly fare. Argyle deserved the win, not least because Torquay set up and played in a negative fashion- they even resorted to time wasting in the second half, almost as if they thought a 0-0 pre season was a good result.

First half belonged to Argyle (playing in stripes) Nelson hit the bar from a corner and reuben and carey both went close . Torquay's narrow pitch didn't help Argyle's new 'style'. Second half much of the same and as Torquay tired the greens looked more likely to score. The breakthrough came near the end with a wide free kick from by Carey which bounced twice before nestling in the far corner but tbh the two defenders and keeper who all failed to clear it will be disappointed.

All had a decent game Reuben looked sharp and I think the new formation will suit him, he should certainly be less isolated. Peter Hartley had a bit of a shocker - not with his defensive work but his distribution was woeful. Tyler harvey had a 5 minute cameo as did Rooney.

Not much else to be learnt, another 90 mins in the tank and still unbeaten. Good to see 810 argyle fans turn up out of a total of 1750-probably Torquay's highest away attendance of the coming season!
