Nothing to do with football but have been watching the torch relay thru Hull Wonderful to see so many people out watching, cheering and applauding as it passes
So have I...great view from outside the Admiral and my pint was still on the table when we went back...quite a special moment for the East Riding!
I went and watched it in Beverley, went especially to support mr nicholson. It was a great day out and something i may never see again in my lifetime (I'm only 22!).
I just don't get it - what's the point? I like watching sport, not someone jogging along holding something that is not exactly unique or historic (there are 8,000 torches for this Games alone). Bah humbug. I'll wait until the real sport starts.
Im with you on this one The more people turn out see it the more I cant believe they dont have something better to do
I think the torch is a positive thing, not really bothered about it myself though. Was reading that it was a Nazi invention for the 1936 Berlin Olympics, along with the Autobahns goes to prove that some good things come from evil sources.
gotta say , i was surprised at the interest , surprised at the turnout and surprised at the excitement people who watched reported about. Fair enough i suppose , but had it been the same torch that opened the first modern Olympics 120 odd years ago then , yeah it would be a special , one off occasion for the region as mentioned , there 8,000 replica torches of not even the original the flame transfer also seems fake. Will say this of the footage ive seen , i am pleased for those runners that took part
