As far as birthplace goes, Swansea is the production line for Wales strikers. Ian Rush - 28 goals - St. Asaph Trevor Ford - 23 goals - Swansea Ivor Allchurch - 23 goals - Swansea Dean Saunders - 22 goals - Swansea Craig Bellamy -19 goals - Cardiff Robert Earnshaw - 16 goals - Somewhere in Africa Cliff Jones - 16 goals - Swansea Mark Hughes - 16 goals - Wrexham John Charles - 15 goals - Swansea John Hartson - 14 goals - Swansea So with our new youth academy and improved senior/reserve squad facilities coming online very, very soon... how many of you here are optimistic that we will continue carrying the flag for the Welsh goals?
I would like to think that we will see a few more home grown names on that list in the next decade, I am also hoping Swansea do something different in the UK and invites the school teachers along and gives them guidance on how to train the schoolkids. Some players bloom later so what the club misses may still become an opportunity later. There is nothing to say that a player may not be the best at around the age of 8, but by 14 he may have caught up and overtaken everybody else in the region. Such a player would be a welcome addition to our Youth Academy
Sorry mate but its true. "Earnshaw, was born on the outskirts of the north central Zambian mining town of Mufulira on 6 April 1981. When he was five, his family moved to Malawi where David Earnshaw took charge of another coal mine and his youngest son began school. Again, the family's stay was to be a short one. In September 1990, following the death of her husband, Rita moved the Earnshaw family to Bedwas, a small Welsh town to the north of Cardiff, where they lived initially with her sister. Earnshaw still has a house there" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Earnshaw#Early_life
i know its true ffs.......it was just the way he put it again>>>>>another vailed attack <wink>......small yes but enough 2 be called a prick for disregarding one of our players(wales)..........................the funniest part of all is u dont watch wales in the first place ...........u lot trawl the gay bars instead
Meh. As for not watching Wales, I cannot see how you can even suggest that. You don't know me, nor do you know anybody else here and thus you are not in any position to make such a claim. PS. Your club sucks monkey balls.
Ask yourself this ,do you support carduff ,if the answer is yes then therefore you must be Wales biggest supporter both home & away , if you answer no then who the **** are Wales, simple logic really.
ur not from swansea musty ....so i`ll let u off with that one vrd i can make the claim on the numbers we see home and away>>>>>did you know rhyl fc take more fans away with wales than swansea do>>>>>if u are there u usual hide somewhere from the city centres .....i dont know why cos u see wrexham newport and the likes there with us boys in the pubs getting on fine ish. lets look at the evidence of your last trip down 2 cardiff yeah>>>>>you didnt come down for anything other than trouble but lets be honest you gotta keep them mouths shut for that or you get tagged by old bill, but im sure you boys know that anyway....u got an escort and that was that ......twas almost a fanny fart if it had more energy about it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1nCqKfECEo&feature=player_detailpage
Watching the game now and have to say that we look weak down the right. Richards must come on to replace Matthews because the boy looks way out of his league against the Austrians!
Well observed, but I don't have to see the game to know that Jazz is far more competent than Mathews, but that's clueless Coalman for you!....................
There is nothing in Cardiff for us but to turn up and watch the games, you Cardiff fans shouldn't need reminding that it is YOUR club and YOUR city with the hooliganism issue. Whilst we may want to support the national team we have little to no interest in entertaining your mobs and adding to the bad reputation that YOUR guys are putting on the Welsh people. And besides, lets look at attendance. East Bank was full, West Bank was very nearly full, the stands north and south were used only to accommodate the Austria fans while the South stand was sectioned off. I remember in KairDuff the Scotland game could barely get above 23,000 in the Millenium Stadium, in the much bigger populated city of KairDuff and that figure was even helped by a huge travelling Scot contingent. Where we the people of Kairduff that night?! I didn't even see them in the stadium, I think I can confidently predict you were miles away probably playing on your Xbox with your friends or something! Talk about you acting like a twat.
Years ago Swans had one of the best schoolboys teams in Britain they won the English Schools Cup a couple of times and we kids used to have an extra day off!! The likes of John and Mel Charles Ivor and Cliffy Jones were products of school football. In those days teachers were really involved in coaching the children ,I don't think that is the case these days.Do you think they are?
