OK, I'll stick my neck out and predict that the top two on May 2nd will come from the teams currently in the top 4!!! I'll stick my neck out even further and say that we will be one of those teams!!!! The champions will be decided on GD I feel.
I'll put mine out further and say I hope we're not. I want 1p5wich at Wembley and fail to understand how anybody could not want the greatest derby game we'd ever be likely to see. And we'd win it too.
I'm not convinced that 1p5wich will even make the play-offs and we'd be more likely to play them home and away as opposed to in the final.
I think Boro may struggle to hold on at the top they have the hardest run in. Watford struggle against the top teams but are excellent against the lower teams. Bournemouth are a bit of an enigma, excellent at times but have a tendency to loose their flow at crucial moments of the season, Friday being a great example. We also have a tendency to lose points just as we look to be closing on the top, like the Wigan game. We have a concentration issue more than anything, there's no questioning the talent int the squad or even the desire. We are entirely capable of winning all 6 games remaining to us, so are the other teams at the top though, every dropped point at the top will matter now. Personally I have felt us and Watford look most likely for the top for a while and I haven't yet changed my mind. If Derby get their whole team fit again I'd fancy them to win the playoffs.
Good summary Bath and I'm sure there will be many twists and turns before the final games. Boro do indeed have a tough run-in and the games against Wolves and then us could define their season Yes.I watched the 2nd half of the Bournemouth game and they had so much possession, but couldn't score through some dogged defending and excellent goalkeeping. Hopefully, AN is working on addressing the concentration issue!!!!
Question is which of the teams are mentally the strongest? Any ideas about how to go about installing this in the squad in front of you?
Bournemouth seem fairly strong I think they benefit from the fact the they are exceeding expectations and seem to be enjoying the ride. I think we seem fairly strong mentally now, very professional recently. Ipswich also seem mentally strong, in fact its probably their greatest strength.
