Dunno whether the mods can make a sticky out of this, hopefully they can as in my own experience top tradesmen are like gold dust, and if we can make a list on here then hopefully it will help us all out and benefit a worthy tradesperson at the same time. Anyway my own experience relates to my old 2002 mk4 VW Golf GT TDi, I've owned the car for eight years and up until the last three months she'd cost me nowt but regular servicing costs, then things started to break down. In those three months I've spent a shed load of money on her, definitely more than she's worth, and had some iffy experiences with mechanics/garages. The latest thing was that the clutch master cylinder had failed. Not being happy with any of those that had gone before, and more in desperation than anything else I turned to the modern media of Facebook. On a couple of the local FB car selling pages I asked if there were any mobile mechanics online that would like to quote for replacing a clutch master cylinder on my Golf. The bloke that ended up doing the job responded by asking why I thought It was the master cylinder that had gone, and when I explained my reasons he responded with a price of £20 to fit it if I supplied the part! The following day I got the part from Andrew Page Motor Factors and an hour later he had it perfectly fitted, I'd also bought some replacement seats and I asked him if he wanted to fit them whilst he was here, he did so for an extra tenner. The bloke is very quick and efficient, and he certainly doesn't rob you. Anyway this is the link to his Facebook page, if you contact him you can, if you want, mention that I put you onto him, Mike from Sproatley. He deserves the work, and he definitely deserves my recommendation. https://www.facebook.com/karls.customcars?fref=ufi
