Sure everyone has seen this going round Facebook. Along with the album one, where people each day post their sporting heroes from when they were young. Well I got tagged and can’t be arsed with it on Facebook. But thought the good people on here may like to share theirs. Mine as follows in no particular order other than Robbo. Bryan Robson Norman Whiteside Glenn Hoddle Neville Southall Dan Marino Daley Thompson Ian Botham Carl Lewis Lothar Mattheus Ossie Ardiles
Bryan Robson Muhammad Ali Eric Cantona Ian Botham Clive Lloyd Curtly Ambrose Seve Ballesteros John McEnroe Ayrton Senna Marvin Hagler
I've also not been arsed with any of the Facebook stuff. It's all over it at the minute, haven't got time for that ****.
I don't really have sporting heroes, so going to do my list different, in no particular order; Gerd Muller Chelsea team early 70's Leeds United under Revie Liverpool 80's fook off Sucky Bobby Robson I assume managers can count as sporting heroes. Italia 90. Brian Clough at Forest winning the European Cup Dickie Guy, look him up Ron Hillyard personal choice of a long serving goalkeeper Peter Feely, you won't know him, move on. Malcolm McDonald v Cyprus Off the top of my head, whether I'd name them all again would be another matter, most influence would of been Clough and Robson, the latter in my book was the best England manager EVER.
Oh I forgot all the boxers around the time of Muhammad Ali, rumble in the jungle. Some of the best ever fights.
Couldn’t bring myself to have an Aussie in mine. Though I loved watching him bowl. I was studying for my GCSE’s when he played us and bowled gatting.
I met curtly ambrose in McDonald’s in Worcester. He was ****ing massive. Met Shane warne, Michael slater, Mark Waugh. Courtney Walsh. Darren gough and Craig white.
Not sure hero is the correct term for my list but hey ho Ronnie Peterson Bob Paisley Dalglish Botham Tyson (deffo not a hero but a must watch ) Daley Thompson oh and Bernie who i used to play Basketball with who was as hard as nails but also gave me some top advice though quite why he insisted demonstrating the painful sporting ones was beyond me
Ayrton Senna .Simply the greatest and gave MILLIONS to his home country but under the radar Didier Pironi ( F1 Driver ) .The Second best F1 world champion we never had ( Behind Sir Stirling moss ) John Watson( F1 driver ) .Very very good but under rated driver . and the best Helmet design EVER ! Ingermar Stenmark( Skier Slalom ) .Simply the best Franz Klammer ( Skier Down hill ) . Maria Walliser ( Skier Down hill ) . Marku Allen ( Rally Driver ) Michele Mouton( Rally Driver ) Walter Rohl( Rally driver ) Henri Toivonan( Rally Driver ) . brilliant Talent , life cut to short with simply stupid cars , and where he lost his life nobody could have helped him or his co-driver . Simply tragic .
