So the dirty 6 now have a bigger competitor in the mix.... little old us.

Fast forward a few years and if they tried to break away again..... perhaps the dynamics of that breakaway will be different (assuming and hoping we don't follow).....

I mean Spurs for example will be, by then... without Kane... probably a top 10 club at best so why would any ESL want them in?

The ESL will want us.... but what if we dug in and said no (as I hope we do).

The whole so called 'power base' will be different....

I honestly think in about 10 years time everyone will warn others of overspending in-case they do a "Spurs" rather than a "Leeds"

    I agree there.

A spurs mate of mine who follows them everywhere told me that apparently Ashley has spent more than Levy in the past 14 years.

Not sure if it's true... but die hard spuds don't like Levy one bit.... they've over extended with that stadium.

btw.. that spurs mate has nothing but positive things to say about the Toon takeover. He comes to SJP every season and always feels really welcomed by the fair folk of our city.

He even says the bogs aren't too bad.

Spurs are in a heap of trouble, but I don't think they'll go under, more that ENIC will lose a lot of money on them but they'll eventually be sold to someone with deep pockets, an Ambani type or another investment group.

Spurs' issue is they make bad decisions, constantly. Nuno's not going to work out. Kane will leave, Son may leave. And they won't be able to invest that money because of the stadium and operational debts. Mid-table beckons and that's going to devalue them even more. There will still be a Big 6, but Spurs won't be in it.

I think the best thing about all this is how much we've upset the applecart. To hear that all the clubs and in particular our ESL deserters are up in arms over all this is very very satisfying.

So instead of the big 6 having a side meeting with the PL prior to the scheduled meeting of all 20 clubs the next one could be like this

    Side meeting of 19 clubs
Err what can we do about NUFC takeover?
    Err ‘ nothing’
Err ok then , how about adding 10m to the prices of all our players
    Err ok then, motion carried

Masters - welcome Amanda , we were just having a quick catch up before the meeting started
Amanda - I’m going to eat your soul!
