I must admit although looking forward to this season and watching our youngsters given the chance to establish themselves and although my heart says we will make the playoffs my head actually has me doubting this and I was thinking we might just miss out... Until I just read an interesting article stating to make the play offs you don't even have to win half your games, the highest win percentage of the team finishing 6th since the premier league was created is only 48% and even more encouraging the average win percentage of the team finishing sixth is only 43% all of a sudden I'm feeling confident that we will be in the top 6 at the end of May COYW
I am looking for a top 5 by Christmas, identify any weak spots, buy in Jan window, then, top 2 = promotion. "Well" its worth dreaming.
"This Football Club was built on good work ethics and a family friendly atmosphere, let’s start this season with a positive attitude and unite as one to achieve our goal." Felix Magath 8th August 2014 As well as wishing us a "wonderful journey", that was Felix's closing comment in a statement published this lunchtime. He makes the point that this is his first full season with the Club and while there may still be movement in the transfer market, he has brought together a players that he believes will develop into a succesful team. Here's a link to the full statement: http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2014/a...e=Social&utm_medium=AllSocial&utm_campaign=MB If Felix can find a settled side and doesn't fiddle too much with rotation (it's a long season so there will inevitably be some), then yeah we'll make top 6.
Our friends at the Gurdian think outside top 6... but is flawed having Norwich to finish 2nd! http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/08/championship-club-by-club-preview
I actually agree with That Norwich will be top two... I was expecting them to lose at least five players including Hooper, Redmond and Fer but with one day to go they have only really lost Snodgrass. Fer and Redmond will be amazing in the championship
He doesn't half talk a load of old B*****Ks. This club's recent history was made by Al Fayed's millions and good management, I'm not convinced by either Khan or Magath, who just keep saying what they think we want to hear. Yet their actions have been detrimental to the club. Khan kept tell us he was going to get us out of trouble, but it was just a shambles. Magath said he'd save us from going down, but his management style, tactics and teams were so puzzling, we never had a real chance. Let's just hope they get it right this season.
Having just looked in a local betting shop on Championship predictions, its as follows 1st 3 ~ Norwich, Cardiff, Derby 2nd 3 ~ Brighton, Middlesbrough, Wolves Supporting batch ~ Blackburn, Fulham, Ipswich
SBMB I partially agree but you can't blame Khan for much. Spent the money in January when asked... Similarly now has thrown the money. As for Felix he had to work with a bunch of losers as has been proven that had no appetite to fight for anything! So let's give them both time!
