This graph off of Twitter tells all, it shows wage to turnover ratio and is taken from the 2011/12 season.... please log in to view this image How crap is that, big spenders/mind benders.....
This data is horrendous and clearly illustrates the totally irresponsible way that BCFC have been run over the last three or four seasons. Overpaid and underperforming players, it is a wonder that we still have a club to support. For that we have to thank SL's generosity in funding the losses, but how much of the financial mismanagement can be laid at his door? Or does it rest with others who are no longer with Bristol City like departed Chief Executive/Chairman for a year and successive managers who were allowed to dish out such lucrative contracts. David James at 42 years of age and others must have thought they had fallen into an inexhaustable pot of honey! No wonder players queued up to sign up for Bristol City Holiday Camp FC where the pay is great and the effort minimal.
I suspect that the graph is considerably distorted by the large fees we probably had to pay to clubs for our loanees (on top of wages) in the last year or 2. It was no doubt considered worth it to stay up last year but I think that not even Messi could have saved us this time, hence the club said enough... None now....
