Rick Parry says that next season top four is a must for the scousers. Is this realistic? According to most scousers fans on the forum here, the most realistic target is top 5 or 6. They think the team should be given time to gel. Who is right?
They have no chance whatsoever. If they employ someone like Martinez and then put this pressure on him this house of cards will fall.
I like Martinez. The scousers fans would hate having him. Mind you it could go either way: a relegation fight or a top 4 finish
Not sure what Parry is up to. Four or five years back when he was there it was reasonable to expect that but now it would be a massive achievement to get Liverpool right back to top four. I imagine FSG have a more realistic view of Liverpool's current situation, they should have anyway, if they don't then all I can say is good luck finding a new manager with a "4th place or the sack" ultimatum
It's not an impossible target, just look how close Newcastle came to doing it. With a half decent manager and a few decent signings, then they could challenge for top 4*
So do I, I think he'd do an excellent job but he would without doubt need three years to carry it out properly. They won't give it him though will they? No chance.
yeah its not impossible but its very hard though, it all depends on who they buy this summer because the teams competing for top four Chelsea, tottenham, Arsenal and even Newcastle will buy and strenghten, it depnds what the new manager does in the transfer window
Parry's a gobshite who along with Moores sold us down the river when they decided Hicks and Gillett got to 'buy' LFC. He no longer works for the club so should keep his nose out and enjoy the £4m bloodmoney he got when H&G bought the club.

Of course it is a realistic target. top 3 are sewn up imo but the 4th is up for grabs by 4 teams this year, spurs chelsea Newcastle and Liverpool I reckon, unlike the swollen arsehole and phill there who deal in idiotic absolutes.
Consistency is the problem, we can play CIty and UNited and Chelsea and Arsenal but it seems have problems with swansea and QPR. Same problem of last 4 years so stop talkng sheite as per usual
The stature of the club demands 4th, the investment demands 4th, it is a financial boost, a significant one that all businesses would be trying to achieve if it is realistic. Many on here said City were not gonna win the league any time soon with lots of certainty, would be interesting to read back on some threads and find some of the above offering similar idiotic absolute unfounded assumptions as fact on that subject. Newcastle is a good example, all of us would have said Newcstle pushing for 4th this year, we'd have laughed, yet...
