Top five teams you've enjoyed us beating over the years, in order.

    1) Mackems <naturally>
    2) Man Ure <they think they are too big to lose to us>
    3) Liverpool <arrogant, loved last Saturday>
    4) Aston Vile <we've a pretty good record against them in the Prem>
    5) Chelsea <ditto of late>

Who are your top five and why? Over to you...

Are you old enough to remember beating Sunderland?

Nottingham Forest when we were in the Championship. I remember a section of their fans coming on here giving it all. Loved it when we beat them 2-0 at St James.

Is there any need for that, RAW? <grr>

How about your favourite Sunderland-in-Europe moment? <snigger>

Ah yes, I remember that lot, it was sweet when we humped them. They'd possibly be number (6) on my list.

Beating Sporting Lisbon at Roker Park has to be up there....Just ahead of our only other European home game when we beat Vasas of Budepest....I was at both games by the way...
PS...Sunderland qualified for Europe by actually winning something which newcastle have never done...<laugh>

Hated the smogs when they got to that European cup final, there was some serious beelin' on 606 when they lost it.

The mutants think they offer something to football... Apart from a freak show they offer nowt. I'd even say Pennywell was classier than their **** hole.

I reckon you are wrong RAW, I reckon winning the Fairs Cup in 1969 meant we qualified for the same competition the following season.

Talking about Europe, I heard Shepherd on Talk Sport a while back saying during his time at the toon, we played over 80 games in Europe. Shame they didn't bring back a trophy with them, however we've had some great fun along the way. Barcelona would be no.7 on my list.

    1. Man United
    2. Chelsea
    3. Barcelona
    4. Liverpool
    5. Arsenal

I didn't include Sunderland, as until the recently, beating them was becoming boring and the expected thing to do.

Aye, the mackems think the tyne wear derby started a mere three games ago.
Anyway, be careful what you say as you will have RAW beelin'.
He's still scratching his heed thinking of which other European teams the mackems have played <probably only another two, RAW> <smiley>

I've had that discussion with Whitey before but he keeps conveniently forgetting. Usually goes onto it not being a major competition and that we only mention it cos we haven't won anything else and then goes quiet when I post a link to Barcelona's website that lists their 3 Fairs Cup wins among their major European honours.

Surely only a mackem would wish to deny us our biggest claim to European glory? <whitey in denial>
