Even if Cardiff have a bad run they'll still pick up some points - with 9pts been fairly realistic from 7 games, which means we would need 16 pts to match them. I think the title is theirs so we need to concentrate on 2nd, that means us and Cardiff beating Watford and giving us more breathing room.
If I had a choice of a prefered run-in, I think I d like Palace's. The thought of Ipswich, Wolves and Barnsley away worries me!
Currently, 17. If we beat Watford, it will shoot down to 11. It stays at 17 if we lose. That is, of course, only if Watford win every game after tomorrow.
and there was me remembering how 'successful' a signing you felt Chris Woods had been after about 4 games????
Like I said, Watford have to win every other game as well - they still have to play us, Cardiff, P'boro (seem to do well against the top sides) and Leicester. If we beat Watford, beat Boro and Cardiff beat Watford, we'd only need 6. Tomorrow's game has a lot more significance than originally thought.
It seems we have become unlikely bedfellows, each of us able to help the other maintain their status in the league. Until we have both put ourselves in a position where we no longer have to worry about any other team(Watfraud) stealing our place(s) we have no need to concern ourselves with winning the title. So here's to you having an excellent game tomorrow and a nifty win. I suspect only the foolish would hope we didn't return the favour this coming Saturday by beating Watfraud and finally dashing their hopes of gaining autos. Of course this may be subject to change for both of us, depending on the next few games.
And indeed the gap we create by doing that will all but do the same for you. I would think you would get enough points from remaining games to make the last game a formality. PS:Not quite promoted though if we both beat them, but I would feel safe
I thought I was! I saw your post and have been doing the maths for about 10 minutes - I had to use the BBC Predictor to be certain...
Can you explain this? I make it that if we both beat Watford Cardiff will be on 81 points and Watford still on 67 - 14 difference with 15 to play for. Watford won't have to play us by then so it wouldn't be impossible for us and Watford both to get maximum points from that last 15. Why would Cardiff we promoted?
I'm confused. (blame beer) I keep forgetting the game in hand Cardiff have (against Barnsley) Doesnt matter anyway - if they are a point off, we might as well say they are up...
I think knowing if the games are home or away might make a difference as well 19:45 Hull City v Watford Ground Info 19:45 Brighton v Charlton Ground Info 19:45 Middlesbrough v Peterborough Ground Info Sat 6 April npower Championship 15:00 Birmingham v Millwall Ground Info 15:00 Huddersfield v Peterborough Ground Info 15:00 Nottm Forest v Blackpool Ground Info 15:00 Derby County v Ipswich Town Ground Info 15:00 Charlton v Leeds United Ground Info 15:00 Brighton v Leicester City Ground Info 15:00 Hull City v Middlesbrough Ground Info 15:00 Crystal Palace v Barnsley Ground Info 15:00 Sheffield Wed v Blackburn Ground Info 15:00 Burnley v Bristol City Ground Info 17:20 Watford v Cardiff City Ground Info 15:00 Bolton v Wolves Ground Info Tue 9 April npower Championship 19:45 Cardiff City v Barnsley Ground Info 19:45 Millwall v Sheffield Wed Ground Info Fri 12 April npower Championship 19:45 Leicester City v Birmingham Ground Info Sat 13 April npower Championship 15:00 Middlesbrough v Brighton Ground Info 12:30 Leeds United v Sheffield Wed Ground Info 15:00 Barnsley v Charlton Ground Info 15:00 Wolves v Huddersfield Ground Info 15:00 Blackpool v Burnley Ground Info 15:00 Blackburn v Derby County Ground Info 15:00 Peterborough v Watford Ground Info 15:00 Cardiff City v Nottm Forest Ground Info 15:00 Bristol City v Bolton Ground Info 15:00 Ipswich Town v Hull City Ground Info Tue 16 April npower Championship 19:45 Barnsley v Derby County Ground Info 19:45 Cardiff City v Charlton Ground Info 19:45 Peterborough v Brighton Ground Info 19:45 Millwall v Watford Ground Info 20:00 Blackpool v Sheffield Wed Ground Info 19:45 Middlesbrough v Nottm Forest Ground Info 19:45 Wolves v Hull City Ground Info 19:45 Blackburn v Huddersfield Ground Info 19:45 Ipswich Town v Crystal Palace Ground Info 19:45 Leeds United v Burnley Ground Info 19:45 Leicester City v Bolton Ground Info 19:45 Bristol City v Birmingham Ground Info Fri 19 April npower Championship 19:45 Hull City v Bristol City Ground Info Sat 20 April npower Championship 15:00 Bolton v Middlesbrough Ground Info 15:00 Sheffield Wed v Ipswich Town Ground Info 15:00 Charlton v Wolves Ground Info 15:00 Nottm Forest v Barnsley Ground Info 15:00 Crystal Palace v Leicester City Ground Info 15:00 Brighton v Blackpool Ground Info 15:00 Birmingham v Leeds United Ground Info 15:00 Watford v Blackburn Ground Info 12:30 Huddersfield v Millwall Ground Info 15:00 Derby County v Peterborough Ground Info 12:45 Burnley v Cardiff City Ground Info Tue 23 April npower Championship 19:45 Millwall v Blackburn Ground Info Fri 26 April npower Championship 19:45 Leicester City v Watford Ground Info Sat 27 April npower Championship 15:00 Leeds United v Brighton Ground Info 15:00 Millwall v Nottm Forest Ground Info 15:00 Bristol City v Huddersfield Ground Info 15:00 Blackpool v Derby County Ground Info 17:20 Peterborough v Sheffield Wed Ground Info 15:00 Blackburn v Crystal Palace Ground Info 15:00 Cardiff City v Bolton Ground Info 15:00 Barnsley v Hull City Ground Info 15:00 Ipswich Town v Birmingham Ground Info 15:00 Middlesbrough v Charlton Ground Info 15:00 Wolves v Burnley Ground Info Tue 30 April npower Championship 19:45 Millwall v Crystal Palace Ground Info Sat 4 May npower Championship 12:45 Burnley v Ipswich Town Ground Info 12:45 Watford v Leeds United Ground Info 12:45 Nottm Forest v Leicester City Ground Info 12:45 Sheffield Wed v Middlesbrough Ground Info 12:45 Huddersfield v Barnsley Ground Info 12:45 Bolton v Blackpool Ground Info 12:45 Charlton v Bristol City Ground Info 12:45 Hull City v Cardiff City Ground Info 12:45 Brighton v Wolves Ground Info 12:45 Derby County v Millwall Ground Info 12:45 Crystal Palace v Peterborough Ground Info 12:45 Birmingham v Blackburn Ground Info
I blame it on the time of night and the feelgood factor after yesterdays win, 15 it would be, but still, I'll take that.
