Could happen if the maths are on our side although, in my defence, I did only get a CSE Grade 3: Forest and Reading have stinky games in store and only Brighton of the teams (within reach) above us look on for a win. Admittedly Blackpool are in a bit of a dip but it's not beyond them to take Leeds out. So, assuming we put enough past Donny which, given their ability to ship goals shouldn't be a problem, we might...just...sneak into the top 6 on GD. That's all I want for Christmas :-D
I know where you're coming from but we just need to comcentrate on what we do and the rest will take care of itself. I think that the next 3 games will pretty much define where we will be come the end of the season!
Exactly my thinking. It's sure to be in the backs of the players' minds too so, if we can do it (at the same time keeping up the unbeaten run) it'll show that we have what it takes. If, on the other hand, we bottle it at a stage when we are better placed than ever to kick on with a winnable run of games, that will also tell us a lot about the players' characters. And that, more than anything, is why I want to be there, because it'll set the tone for the rest of the season.
I hear on the News that the West Country is taking a right old battering from the Storm! I hope you and yours are ok mate!
Cheers JWM - I think so, so far, although I'm at work (National Trust house near Exmoor) and we're in 38mph winds at the minute, forecast for up to 55 later. But Father Christmas is coming despite everything so we are going to stay open for the kiddies, as long as we think it's safe. I'm nore worried about the hour's drive home tonight!
Pretty much agree with everything, we just need to keep our heads down, work hard and whatever happens, happens.
Unless we can sort out the back four problem, being that we are unbalanced, by virtue of playing a central defender at full back, and that the midfield is unbalanced, because we have two players in Skuse and Hyam who are to similar in their playing pattern, and this fails to give alternatives, in view of different variations. Hyam for me is just a very honest trier, and a credit to himself, but as I've said before, not good enough for this level, no top six finish for me unless these problems are resolved
If it wasn't for Derby flying, i reckon MM would be in for contention for MOTM. We'll try and dick Reading for 6
There's still a lot of football to be played and although the Christmas period is busy, we will still be able to climb the table should things not go our way.
Just heard that the Orwell Bridge has been closed both ways! I wouldn't want to be sat in that queue!
Well, 70kts of stormy winds here on South Coast last night! I too think that all 3 next games are winnable and confidence would flow and we climb 2-3 places. But, hey this is ITFC and we could suddenly get popped by Donny and start a slide! But I am ever the optimist and haven't enjoyed following Town so much for what 5 years!! OK, not always pretty but just compare with a year ago! Those Dark Lord clouds and the Jewell pain almost forgotten!
I've been in the garden this morning and now I'm worried about us leaking goals. Both sides of de-fence are down. I'll get my coat...!
if only for a couple of hours.... I'd like to see us say stay outside the playoffs for most of the season and creep in there as dark horses in the last couple of games.
