    Born in Sunderland and supported them as a boy, released by Newcastle as a youngster and graduated from Middlesbrough’s academy, so it would be fair to say that the north east is in Johnson’s blood. If the England winger feels he can break into City’s side then he will undoubtedly stay. If not, why would a move to your hometown club not seem attractive?

    Really? He'd be on big wages. Why would he drop from 1st place to 13th place? Also the home town thing is kind of horseshit.

    He was born in Sunderland, but was a Newcastle fan as a youngster.

    Think we want him on loan with City paying part of his wages, local papers saying he's one of our top targets so you never know.

    I don't know about the lad himself but a lot of his family are SAFC mad.

    Agree if we have 5 like we did 2seasons ago, 1 or 2 IMO is fine.

    Johnson n Aquilani as our loan signings?

    Can't see you guys having a chance of Adam Johnson to be honest... Perhaps if Liverpool's interest is all made up. Surely he'd rather play occasionally at City than go to Sunderland - his England chances would be the same with either option really.

    Not taking the piss or anything, just my opinion.
