First, this is not my list, found it on the net. I'll put mine up later. I know this has been done before but it should make for a positive distraction. With no game this weekend we need something to talk about.

We are different generations on here and we all see and rate players differently. Should make for good debate me thinks.

    10. Trevor Sinclair (1993-1998)

Making 168 appearances for QPR and scoring 16 goals, Sinclair played a key midfield role for the best part of the nineties. Most QPR fans will remember him for that brilliant overhead kick he scored against Barnsley in the FA Cup.

    9. Dave Thomas (1972-1977)

please log in to view this image

Thomas was arguably the best winger to play for QPR, using his pace and strength on the ball to provide the likes of Stan Bowles and Gerry Francis with brilliant service from the wing. Thomas was a crucial player in the 1975/76 season, with QPR leading the First Division for most of the season before narrowly missing out on the top spot to Liverpool.

    8. Paul Parker (1987-1991)

please log in to view this image

Although previously playing as a right back for Manchester United, Parker became a centre-back on joining QPR, where he formed a formidable defence with Alan McDonald. Parker was known for being very fast on his feet and because of this gained International recognition, playing a part in Englands 1990 World Cup campaign.

    7. Terry Venables (1969-1974)

please log in to view this image

Venables made 179 appearances for QPR, scoring 19 goals and playing a vital part in the 1972/73 side that won promotion back to the top flight. He then went on to become manager of QPR between 1980-1984.

    6. Les Ferdinand (1987-1995)

please log in to view this image

After successful loan spells to Brentford and Turkish side Besiktas respectively, Ferdinand returned to QPR a different player and had his best seasons in the early nineties, scoring 20 goals in 37 games in the 1992/93 season, helping QPR to finish fifth in the FA Premier League.

    5. Clive Allen (1978-1980 & 1981-1984)

please log in to view this image

During his first stint at QPR Allen scored 32 goals in 49 appearances before leaving the West London outfit for Arsenal. On his return to QPR, he went on to score 40 goals in 87 appearances and played a crucial part in getting QPR to their first FA Cup Final.

    4. Gerry Francis (1968-1979 & 1981-1982)
please log in to view this image

Francis was very much a box to box midfielder, which helped him to score 57 goals in total whilst at QPR. He was awarded the captains armband for England, owing to his fine form at leading the Rangers to be league runners up in 1976.

    3. Rodney Marsh (1966-1972)

please log in to view this image

After joining from Fulham in 1966, Marsh had arguably his best season for QPR, scoring 44 goals in 53 games helping Rangers to become Third Division Champions and earning himself the title of Third Division top goalscorer. He was also a vital member of the team that went on to win the 1967 League Cup and become runners-up of the 1966/1967 Second Division.

    2. Stan Bowles (1972-1979)

please log in to view this image

Bowles had successful periods at both Manchester City, Carlisle and Crewe Alexander before moving to QPR to replace Rodney Marsh. Scoring 97 goals in 315 appearances, his impact was felt during QPR’s 1975/76 season as QPR finished one point behind Premier League Champions Liverpool to become runners up. Bowles become a fan favourite and legend within the club for his fine form during the 1970’s.

    1. Alan McDonald (1981-1997)

please log in to view this image

Making his way up through the QPR youth teams, McDonald made his first team debut in 1983. He went on to spend 17 years at QPR becoming a solid part of their defence. McDonald made 476 appearances and scored 18 times during his time at QPR.

In my opinion it's a good list. My only change would be to put Sir Les above Clive Allen.

Norway - it is a good list Norway.

Based upon facts, I think that Macca deserves the No.1 postion for his tremendous record.
However, I personally would follow my heart and put Stan in pole postion.

There is also quite a good list of players that did not make that Top 10!

Great players, but nearly all of them attackers/goalscorers. And of course, and as always, totally ignoring everyone before the TV era. I don't know anything about those players either, but I'm pretty sure one or two from 80 years of history would be in the top ten 'ever'.

Only three of them from my generation - probably being a bit generous compared to the success of the 60s and 70s.

Although a personal favourite, I think Sinclair at 10 is slightly kind on the guy - regularly outperformed by Impey if I remember correctly and I'd have thought him, Sinton, Wilkins or Wegerle would be better shouts.

Good list, but agree about Phil Parkes, far better than David Seaman & Chris Woods.

What about Dave Clement, Ian Gillard, Mike Keen, Mick Leach, Kevin Gallen, Andy Sinton? All good/great players for one reason or another.

This one could run and run......

For most of us, if not all, it will be a generational thing. I never saw George Goddard play for eg.
In no particular order, this would be mine.......
Wegerle, Bowles, McDonald, Hazell, ****tu, Roeder,Francis (G), Stainrod,Parkes

Ferdinand(will leave you to work out which one!).

10 worst would be much harder! I could think of 50.

This is always going to be generational biased ; so a good benchmark is perhaps international honours......when they meant something. So I will go Parkes, Clement, Bowles, Marsh, G Francis and Masson, Fenwick for my first seven. Will then throw in the following three because I remember them as exciting attacking players - Barry Bridges, Mike Ferguson and Andy Sinton.

Venables was too slow, Wergele and enigma, Stainrod a prima donna,

Someone mentioned Impey earlier, would also give a mention to the likes of Barker & Holloway who although were not greats they were the linchpins in a very good side.

Also players who came to us in the twilight of their careers but who gave value for money unlike some we could name recently, Webb, McLintock, Trevor Francis, Wilkins.....

Too hard to do IMO as it will always be just a list of legends w have made in our heads
I certainly wouldn't have Mac as number 1 just because he is dead
The overall image of QPR will be number 10 IMO Stan, Rodney … if the club doesn't build on that then we could lose all of it

As someone alluded to on another thread, Trevor let himself down when we got relegated - he stayed but thought he was miles better than everyone else in the league, I remember tearing my hair out watching him try to beat every player on the pitch. Of that generation David Bardsley is probably the only other player that stands a chance of making the top 10 . Incredibly consistent and hugely unlucky not to play for England more.

Didn't Impey win player of the season a couple of times? I remember him having a couple of storming years....
